Fun game in the vein of mario 64 and banjo kazooie

This game is a very good platformer game, good for all ages.

Fans of old school 3D platformers should feel right at home!

This is a good game if you were a fan of the old school 3D platforming like Banjo-Kazoie, Konkers Bad Fur Day or Super Mario 64. Although I wish the in-game dialog would speak the words of the characters instead of a mumbling sound effect. That will become annoying for little ones that play the game and can't fully read all words yet.

I should have known from the reviews and the quick sale drop to $14 ($11 after GCU discount) that this would not be a great experience, but I wanted to try it out for nostalgia purposes. It's not good. Honestly. The voice acting (aka awful noises) can't be turned off and is annoying as all get out, and in places is can't be skipped. The humor and writing are juvenile - not even in a clever or entertaining way. The level design is meh. The worst part though, is the way your character controls. Platformers need tight controlling characters so you can perform things with precision, but it just felt sloppy in this game. Horribly sloppy. Character not even running in a straight line when you hold it level sloppy. Really just not a good game.

A lot of people try to compare this to modern games, don't. Its a throw back to the puzzle/platformer/collectathons games some of us grew up with. If you remember those games then you'll love this.

Great throwback for those of you who like platformers

Yooka-Laylee is a beautifully bright platformer built in the style of rare’s banjo-kazooie 1 & 2. If you like fun collectathon based platforming and puzzle games you will enjoy this title.

Great platformer but others are better. Like Mario.

Quite a fun throwback to the retro 3D platform era!

Made by the some of the team that made banjo-kazooie and banjo-tooie. This game isn't as good as other games for this generation, due to lack of interaction on some level due to the levels being too big. How you feel about this game will come down to how badly you want to recapture the old 3d platform games from the past.

Plays like Ratchet and Clank in a sense but plays smooth and very fun for all ages.

Many of the former Rare guys behind Banjo-Kazooie reunited to bring back a seemingly dead genre. Really well done with improvements to some of the more dated bits of gameplay from the genre.
