Can there be TOO much collecting?
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Yoshi is a cute fun game, that has a lot going for it. Each stage has Flowers, Coins, Red Coins and Pooches that need to be collected from it. This is all fine and dandy, and adds a ton of replay value to the game. Then there is also the "Scavenger Hunt" for each section of the world. This scavenger hunt has you looking for specific items in a level. Once you find them you get a flower. This sounds like fun, except: if you've already found that item before the scavenger hunt is initiated, you have to find it again and 2) You can only initiate a scavenger hunt item one at a time. So if there are 10 scavenger hunt items, you may need to replay a board 10 times to find all the items. The game is nice and lets you exit a board as soon as you found an item, but honestly - I just want to know what all the items are up front, so I can find them all in one go. Overall, the game is definitely worth playing, but if your completion be prepared to play a board over and over again to 100% this beast. Also, the game is super cute, and friendly for newcomers to the series.

Delightful Yoshi game
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. If you've ever played a Yoshi game before, then this is more of the same but on the excellent Nintendo Switch platform. Worlds are beautifully created, animation and sounds are sometimes literally eye-candy, and gameplay mechanics are nicely updated with a modern touch. It is cute beyond belief, and the second-player system keeps each world/level fun. Not a difficult game, so kids of most ages will definitely enjoy running and jumping (and floating) around while still being able to achieve level goals. Experienced gamers may find it simple, but there are four additional levels after the game is completed where their skills will be lightly tested. I love Yoshi, and I love this game. Thank you NIntendo for continuing to give this little green dinosaur such a delightful game!

||Posted . Owned for 10 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This game keeps me on my toes. I thought it was going to be an easy pass through game but sometimes I have to replay to get all the items so it’s a light challenge for a non gamer

Fun but maybe too easy
||Posted . Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Latest in the Yoshi's Island sub-series and the second game in the series with a hand-crafted art style. It's really cute and while most of the mechanics are engaging, it is a bit too easy.

Good all-around game
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Great game for young and older kids! My son likes to replay levels to earn more rewards. Teaches kids that more effort is rewarding.

Simple yet beautiful
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. Most reviews/opinions I’ve seen of this game point out how easy it is, but I think that’s missing what makes this game great. The gameplay is solid and fun, the level designs are creative, and the art direction is phenomenal. I play games to have fun, and that doesn’t always mean it needs to be super challenging. If you can appreciate this game for what it is- a beautiful, laid-back experience- then I think you’ll enjoy it.

Relaxing but surprisingly tough! Delightful Detail
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I picked this game up as a fan of the series. I was expecting a light, easy-going platformer and that is pretty much what this is. A lot is changed from the series' standard formula, and I'll address that at the end. In terms of the gameplay: It is a platformer, you play as yoshi and run through various themed stages, jumping or tossing eggs to progress. Each stage is very linear and 2-3 stages make up a "world" which has a consistent them across stages. The stages can be done quickly or slowly. Personally, I'm for the slow pace because there's an impressive amount of detail to enjoy each level. Beating each level should be straightforward, but there are several collectibles that require a little exploration and skill to collect. There are, unique to this version, side quests where you're tasked with going into the level and finding an object. I've found some of these objects surprisingly tough to find. These quests add a lot to replay value to levels. The characters in the game are nice and friendly, I find them to be uplifting. In breaks from the series: - Side Quests - Instead of 6 worlds with 8 levels each, there are several smaller worlds with 2-3 levels. These smaller worlds are significantly more detailed than in prior games and there's a larger variety of stage, which is something I was initially hesitant about but see it as a welcome change. - The way eggs are tossed is now position via the joystick / cursor, instead of oscillating up and down. I dislike this because it takes longer to throw sometimes, but it's a needed change for the gimmicks of this game. - Woolly World had badges which assisted players through levels, instead Crafted World has costumes (which are fun to dress Yoshi up in) that simply add additional health (very helpful).

My Favorite Switch Platformer
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. As an adult gamer, its nice to take a break from the more violent and mature games on PlayStation or Xbox, and Yoshi's Crafted World has been one of my favorite experiences on Nintendo Switch. The difficulty is on the easier side, which makes for a fun casual, experience and a great way to wind down from a stressful day. Cute characters, creative level design, and colorful graphics make for a really fun game.

Happiness to my Daughter
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is a gift of Happiness for my Daughter. She loves Yoshi games. Ever since the first one game out on the SNES (Yoshi’s Island), they have always been enjoyable. The graphics for Crafted a World are stunning and the mechanics in the game are very creative. I just wish more time was spent on difficulty rather than forcing you to replay the levels just to find items. It was a bit of a grind.

Best Yoshi game since Wooly World!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Don't let the length of the game steer you away from purchasing. Each and every level of the game was designed well with a focus on doing something different and new. Graphics are bright and colorful and who doesn't love Yoshi. The various amounts of costumes you can acquire are a huge plus too. If you were a fan of Wooly World or Yoshi's New Island, you won't regret buying this.

Wonderful for kids
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Beautiful game, as other reviewers have said, but definitely more on the kid side. It's very cutesy. I had hoped to play collaboratively with my husband but it wasn't his cup of tea. I'm happy to keep playing on my own.

Great Family Friendly Game
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is a wonderful followup to Yoshi's Wooly World. With tons of eye-candy, stars, and costumes to collect as well as inventive levels, there is plenty to keep you entertained. Thanks to their level setting, this can be a challenging fun game for grownups or easy enough for very young kids which is one of the truly great things about this series.

He's obsessed. Im not a gamer and I even love the game myself. It has lots of level that adds a different twist. Yoshi blows up in sizes, he can eat bomb, and carries eggs. Fun levels!

As fun as it is beautiful
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. As far as craft-themes Nintendo games go, this is nothing new. But I must say, the levels are just stunning, and even though the craft theme isn't new, I am certainly enjoying the design and mechanics of the levels in this game. It has easy and normal mode, so it can appeal to all ages. It's not too easy, nor is it so challenging that it gets frustrating.

Explore many worlds in this adorable platformer
||Posted . Owned for 2 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I got this game thinking it was a children's game and that it'd be a breeze. While the storyline and adorable art style are still appropriate for all ages, the game is surprisingly more challenging than expected, which makes it more exciting for an adult player. Very reminiscent of Yoshi's Story on the N64.

A Wholesomely Fun Time
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Yoshi just has a way of making things fun and the cardboard world is beyond more than what I expected. Each level is so cute and colorful that it really REALLY shines through on a 4K tv. Even on a 1080p monitor it looks absolutely stunning. Not to mention the music is downright amazing. From the title song to the remixes you hear in later levels, Nintendo just knocks it out of the park. While the levels are basically "run right and reach the goal", there's a good amount of secrets to find if you want to explore. Each world you travel to needs a certain amount of flowers in order to access. This is a little gatekeep-y, but the game does such a good job of handing you flowers. Without too much exploring you should be able to move to the next world without any problems. The costumes you can unlock with the in-game coins you collect are adorable. Each one gives you bonus protection from enemies or falls. Not to mention the amiibos give you some bonus costumes. The Yarn yoshi amiibos give the best imo but the others are greatly appreciated. Do know that not all amiibos give a custom costume like in Wooly World. This is a definitely must buy if you just want a chill game to play alone or with a friend.

Yoshi’s Island is Back.
||Posted . Owned for 1 year when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I actually really likes the design of this game. The music is much better than New Island and the game isn’t to difficult. There is a bonus world that’s harder but overall the game was mostly casual enjoyable gameplay. This is probably my favorite since Yoshi’s Island on SNES.

Yoshi's Newest Adventure on Nintendo Switch.
||Posted . Owned for 3 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This defines the Yoshi franchise, this is an addicting, innocent and lovely game that I think all gamers should experience. This is by far one of the most creative/original games I've seen on the switch. The collectibles in this game keep making me want to come back to the levels to find them all, personally, I haven't got all of the collectibles myself, but I have finished the main storyline. This is one of the best Yoshi games out there for new players and returning players. In most of my reviews, I've pointed out that I don't care about the graphics, but the character in this game (Baby Bowser) looks exactly like Bowser Jr. without the bib and it's not his original style for Baby Bowser and that kind of disappointed me and it felt like the developers were being lazy with his character model, but that's just a minor fault of the developers. Also, the cutscenes are short, simple, and interactive and the way the bosses form is just brilliant, it takes you back to when you were a kid and you imagined every piece of furniture/scraps/machines/art/everyday items as an entity that had a personality attached to it. This game is so crafty and distracts you from how the real world is, the music is catchy and pleasant. I've also wondered why black and white Yoshi are not in this game? Overall an amazing experience, especially the Poochy and Poochy Pups mechanic that just makes the game a lot more fun. The multiplayer kind of changes the pace of things, but you get a laugh out of it. Especially the riding on each other part, that cracked me up, like Yoshi attack ride! Also, those mini-games are on point! Satisfying game.
