Good work out

I do enjoy this workout. Some can be very intense. The camera can be sensitive....make sure you stand out against your work out background. My problem has been the camera picking me up....mostly because my background is darker along w/ my clothes. This is important...because performance sets the pace for future work outs....so the more accurate your are w/ movements and performance....then the more challenging your next w/u will be. My biggest complaint is she doesn't count down before she starts...she just starts the movement and if you are not on the ball...you have to struggle then to catch up. I am getting better after doing it a while so I pick up on the cues (music..and eye movements) but when doing new exercises...it would be nice for her to give cues as to when she is starting and what legs she is starting on.

easy to set up
a very good workout if you actually do the exercises.
i dont have to drive to a gym to work out anymore
if you want the full experience wear lighter clothes and dont stand by a light or sunny window. the camera is very sensitive to bad lighting. remember to keep light in front of you not behind you and you will be fine. i wear hand weights and place my yoga mat underneath for better footing. a real workout if you put your mind & body to it.

Frustrating

The idea is great. I think that having a game without having to use the wii mote is a great idea, but the camera is so picky. If you do the workouts you will still sweat and lose lbs but the whole time she will be telling you that you are doing it wrong and that you need to check the tutorial. I think it is because you are supposed to make sure you don't blend in with your environment. I had to turn off my ceiling fan, lock my kittens in a room, wear a neon pink long sleeve shirt and bright pants in order to get her not to tell me that I need to check the tutorial so much. When she was telling me I was doing it wrong I was wearing a red sports top and blue workout pants.. apparently my skin blended in with my white walls...(I have olive skin, I'm not that pale). After about a week I got annoyed with her telling me I am doing it wrong every 2 seconds and stopped playing... oh and the music is horrible you listen to the same song over and over again during setup and intro. I was not a fan

Wee Love Our Wii Your Shape

This was purchased at the same time we bought our Wii console. The camera is unique in that it puts you right on your TV (wide screen preferred) so you can see what you are doing and keep up with the instructor. It's like seeing yourself in a mirror so you can correct your position. And the instructor tells you when you are not doing the exercises correct. It is like having a personal trainer in your own living room. A large area is required when doing these exercises. We have a hardwood floor so an exercise mat is helpful. I won't post any pictures or videos because I am not in shape just yet. Maybe in a couple of weeks.

Disappointed

I was a bit dissapointed with this game and I am glad I returned it and got my money back. I have been actively using the game My Fitness Coach for over a year and it has worked great for me and was only 20 bucks. If you listen closely Your SHape is an exact copy of My FItness Coach...and when I mean exact...Jenny Mccarthy's character repeats the same phrases and excercises word for word. If you ask me its basically the same game except for the use of the motion camera which does not work accurately. I also did not like the number of breaks and didnt feel like I was getting a workout at all. She also spent very little time on the area you selected to work on and I found her doing more cardio than anything else. Overall I would recommend My Fitness Coach or Golds Gym Cardio workout, you are getting a great deal for very little money. I plan to purchase EA sports active next.

Good workout but frustrating enough to annoy.

I have worked out with this game 8 times and I am frustrated. Although I am definitely getting a work out (sweating and huffing and puffing) I can't acheive anything over 50 percent because no matter how hard I try, Jenny keeps telling me to "Ah, Watch your arms!" It is not only annoying but it is untrue. I can have a great workout but the game tells me that I am OK. Also, she keeps repeating the same exercises (over and over) although Jenny McCarthy advertises that there are over 400 exercises. It does tell you that you are doing it wrong but it doesn't tell you specifically (like raise your arms higher or bend your elbows). It just tells you to watch your arms or refocus your legs. The tutorial is not much help.
I really wanted this to work and gave it a very sincere shot but I think I might have to try the highly reviewed EA active instead. We also purchased the Wii fit plus and the games on it are really fun.

Awesome way to work out

It's a fun way to work out. You get to choose which parts of your body you want to work out. It keeps a log of how many calories you've burned in your work out and through out your training. You can even pick goals to strive for and it will help pick your work out for you.

nice idea but not great

For the price the game is OK and I think that if I followed the workouts it would be effective but I bought it because I thought it would be more accurate at sensing my motions and to be honest seeing myself trying to play is just embarrassing and I would rather work out a different way.

PLEASE DO NOT BUY THIS!

Bottom Line, IT DOES NOT WORK! I have experienced all of the above mentioned complaints, but I think this one tops them all!!!
I was purposely skipping an exercise because i have a bad back. So, I got up to get a healthy fiber bar and came back to the position Jenny was in. While I was waiting for her to finish the oblique sit-ups, (munching on my fiber bar, mind you ), I wondered what would happen if I just moved my elbow up as if I was doing the actual sit-up. I moved my elbow SLIGHTLY towards the correct general direction, and did not attempt any sit-up motion, and jenny told me how GREAT I was doing, and what great form I had. I plan to upload a video of this on u-tube, and best buy for all to see.
Another big problem is that she repeats the same instructions over and over when she should be telling you where your head, and other relevant body parts should be facing, and or doing with each exercise.
Your workouts are NOT customized as promised. And she takes a break every 2 minutes, and she doesn't count or indicate in any way when the exercise begins. THE MUSIC IS LIMITED AND TERRIBLE.
It could be excellent if the software was modified, and the camera worked.
DO NOT BUY UNLESS YOU DON'T MIND RETURNING!
The trade-in value for this in perfect condition is $21.00???

Worse Camera Ever
Posted .
This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.
While you can customize your workout schedule and the area of your body you would like work on, the overall product is not worth the money. The camera lags so bad that she is constantly saying that you're doing it wrong, even if you know your moves are correct. This leads the "grade" of the workout to be lowered so you never really know if you're improving.

Once I get the hang of it all ... I know I will love this workout. But, for now..not so much. Have not made it through an entire workout. Not the fault of the game itself, but in my lack of coordination. If you are coordinated, it's perfect for you....I'll get there.

PROS:
-great to see a Wii application that finally utilizes a video camera.
-nice to see yourself on screen with good frame rate (though it shows some delay)
-easy setup
CONS
-the camera just does not track well. (i had a white wall for a background with ample lighting, and it still kept losing track of my arms.)
-i decided to test it and just stood still for a bit, and the game would randomly spit out a "watch those arms" or "excellent!".
-it's hard to do the yoga positions while on the floor and trying to look up at the screen.
-no way to track accurate weight gain/loss.
-only has basic progress tracking.
-graphical interface was pretty basic, no frills. not your typical "Wii standard interface" feel.
-music could be better.
NOTES:
-after the novelty wears off, it's nothing that a workout dvd, a full-length mirror, and a pen and paper can't replace. i'm definitely returning this product. i'm looking to try the WII FIT PLUS next, since it's fitness approach, graphical interface, and progress tracking seem sound.

This is honestly the worst workout game I've ever played. The camera does not translate what I'm doing to the game at all. Therefore, every 2 seconds, Jenny McCarthy tells me I'm doing everything wrong and I should look at the tutorial. Then she makes everything easier because she thinks I am incapable of the workout and then I don't get a workout at all. Also, you can pick what body part you want to work on. I chose legs and ended up doing only about 1 of 15 minutes on legs. Overall, this game is just pure frustration and I am begging you, do not buy this.
