    Great mix

Ludo's quirky, clever lyrics are infused with pop culture references, fully developed stories (both fantastical and those inspired by real life) and tongue-in-cheek humor. The lyrics paired with amazing guitar solos, a Moog synthesizer, and great beats culminate in an original sound. Which makes this album great fun and good times. "You're Awful, I Love You" album spans a gambit of from the rock-pop song "Love me dead" with it's disturbing yet so familiar and entertaining theme; to the soft and sweet ballad "Street Lights;" to the haunting and beautiful "The Horror of Our Love." Overall the album delivers that rock sound and the all the fun that goes with it. You'll more than likely find yourself rockin', boppin' and singing along wherever and however you choose to listen to the tracks. I definitely recommend it. I also recommend you check out their two other CDs, their self-titled "Ludo," and "Broken Bride." In response to a previous review; choruses are supposed to be repeated, that is why it is called a chorus. Also the previous reviewer obviously missed the concept in the song "Go-Getter Greg." It's supposed to be annoying and repetitive, because the character in the song is annoying and relentless.

For starters, the lyrics are playful and inventive but are not depressing or negative like other albums in the last 10 years that glorify drugs and crime. Music based on real people and real experiences? What? The music styles range from 50's rock to now plus throw in a little cake, queen, bowie, weezer and andrew lloyd weber. Thats Ludo. Thats Rock.

This is the best CD i have listened to in a long time. It is also one of those rare CD's that i actually like every song on. Ludo is one of my all time favorite bands and i would highly suggest purchasing this CD. You won't regret it :)

While the band may sound original to some, I think it sounds a lot like "the killers". (which is a much better band) The lyrics are nice, however the songs become annoying after a while due to repetativeness. (IE same chorus over and over again throughout a short period "Go-Getter Greg" is an example.) Overall; the band sounds too commercial, like they should be writing jingles for a tv ad. I would stay away.
