English voices and fantastic visuals. Pact Edition
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The story is as expected, I love the world design. I would recommend this game to others who like RPG games but still unable to decide on JRPG's, This is a great introduction. The English Dubbed Voices are well done.

Another fantastic entry in the Ys franchise
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. If you're familiar with Ys VIII, you'll feel right at home with this game. The controls and mechanics are all largely the same as with Ys VIII (which is by no means a bad thing). This game features everything you'd come to expect from a modern Ys game, including fast paced combat, a great soundtrack, and a fun sense of exploration. Bear in mind, though, that this game is more plot-heavy compared to previous Ys games, so there is a fair bit more dialogue and world building mixed in between dungeons and exploration.

Ys IX, another unforgettable experience
||Posted . Owned for more than 2 years when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The latest entry in the Ys series, Ys IX, is another unforgettable experience. Although not as good as Ys VIII, it takes the Ys formula and turns it on its head by adding more party members and giving you a full city that can be explored using new unique powers. The story also has a few twists and turns which keeps you guessing.

Best Ys game yet
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. One of the most entertaining games I have played. I recently got into the Ys series, starting with VII on PC, and origins on PS4. Those games are pretty good, but I gotta say Ys IX just blows it out the water. You can tell Falcom put in a lot of work into this game and they really took this series to the next level with this installment. The story is deep, the character development is great, and the combat is very fun. The graphics are not next gen, but after awhile you realize that the game is actually very beautiful in its own way. I went into this game not expecting that much, but I have been pleasantly surprised and I'm loving it so far. 9/10 get it before it sells out and becomes rare like Ys 8.

Amazing
||Posted . Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. One of the best games in the YS series. The combat is roughly the same as YS viii but it is still fun. The areas are fun to explore and designed really well. Enjoying every second of the game.

Ys is great!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I was introduced to the Ys series when a friend let me borrow Ys 8. Since then I’ve been hooked. Every game in the series is a fast paced action adventure rpg. Everything that I’ve ever wanted in a video game. Ys 9 doesn’t seem like it will have the same scale as Ys 8, but deep into the play through the prison city reveals itself to be much larger and more complex than revealed in the initial impression.

Falcom continues to bring Ys mastery
||Posted . Owned for 6 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have been an Ys fan since Ys 3 on the Super Nintendo and this series is so wonderful. Adol is a very intriguing protagonist and the stories just keep getting more interesting. While not the best story of all the Ys games, this one is one of the better ones with a crazy plot twist near the end of the game. Highly recommended if you are an Ys fan or overall Action RPG fan.

A Great Game
||Posted . Owned for 3 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I've been a fan of the Ys series since Ys III on the sega genesis, and with each successive game it's just gotten better, I really like Ys VIII, my only real gripe with IX is that the town just feels empty, like all the time. Other than that I love it.

Solid action RPG but lesser than Lacrimosa of Dana
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Falcom has cranked out Ys entries for decades; fittingly, Ys IX delivers blazing-quick action and scorching rock riffs just like its predecessors. Traversal is enjoyably improved owing to the cast's assorted Monstrum gifts. Worryingly, however, the game taxes a base PlayStation 4 in spite of its oft drab (and, undemanding) environments. Ys VIII nailed the emerging multi-party Ys formula. Ys IX reaches lesser heights. Still well worthy of a pickup for RPG fans, with its endearing cast and snappy skill-based action, but don't expect the vibrancy of the lavish island of Seiren this go-round - the beige and gray Balduq pales somewhat, by contrast.

Very enjoyable Action RPG
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. As someone who played Memories of Celceta and Ys 8 Lacrimosa of Dana, i was excited when this game finally was given a release date, it is a very enjoyable game, though i felt that some characters could've been expanded upon but that didnt perturbed me as the action and soundtrack captivated me

Another great Ys game!
||Posted . Owned for 8 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I really enjoy the Ys series. Ys VIII was great, and at first I wasn’t sure how I would enjoy the change from the large and lush Island setting of that game to this game which is based mostly around one, albeit large, location. Fortunately the story is set up so that the focus in a single location makes sense and the game design allows you to make good use of your powers to explore the city. The color palette in this game is definitely more muted than VIII and overall this game isn’t going to wow you graphically, but my enjoyment of YS has always come from the characters and story, and this entry doesn’t disappoint. I always have such fond memories of the characters when I look back at these games.
