You never know when you're going to brush against something or connect with a hard object. The screen protector adds that extra layer of protection and stays on well. Make sure you buy the correct size or you'll have some overlap.

They have replaced the shield several times over the year that I have had my Apple Watch. However, that is the problem too. The shield does not stay on long before it is peeling and coming off. I have went through six of them. I have finally given up and moved on to another type of screen protector.
