I do tend to hit my watch against things and the shield keeps my screen from getting scratched. I see no difference as i have it on my screen and it doesnt bother me or make it look any other way.

It doesn't apply very well with the curved edge of the watch, and within 2 weeks the corner was coming up. First time my husband wore long sleeves, it completely pulled the screen protector off. Definitely a big disappointment.
