If you are really worried about scratching your screen you can try it, but mine started to come off within the first week. Dust and everything else built up under a corner and the day by day peeled back. Even if you follow the instructions perfectly you won't get a perfect seal. A case may be the better option for the 42mm Apple 3

It started peeling after a few weeks. The instructions were not as clear nor did they have a video to watch to show you back when i got the device.
