The lid/cover puts too much torque on the side of the iPad and caused a disconnect of the touch screen feature of a brand new iPad! I had to send in for service.

Good sturdy product, but I had to return it, because did not fit my iPod Air 2

Personally I did not like the way this was designed. It is very thick and I think very cheaply made. I purchased two of them and returned both of them. They are very hard to close. I couldn't even close one of them 100%. I felt like I was going to break them if I tried to put more pressure on closing it. We returned this item and purchased the logitech wireless keyboard.

Pros: It's everything the video shows and more (except the backlight colors). VERY solid, easily detachable, easily re-attachable. Laptop mode and video mode are awesome. My iPad Air 2 is now a laptop, love it. Initial concern: the iPad Air 2 model only comes with the color white as the keyboard backlight color. Zagg's own video for this product shows blue, and the Air model has 7 color choices! I felt a little left out as I was really looking forward to that, such an unexpected extra that didn't materialize with no warning . . . but honestly 12 hours later this was much less of a concern as this is such a superior product. Suggestions for the wonderful ZAGG folks: Incorporate some sort of stand on the device cover in order to increase case modes functionality - so there can be a Vertical, adjustable option for e-reading books and magazines. If this could also be done on the keyboard side for book mode? And I was looking for the backlight colors, bring them back please! Thanks for all consideration of the suggestions. You have an Awesome product.

I've waited for this keyboard for months for my iPad Air 2. Finally, Best Buy had stock -- the ZAGG online store is still waiting for theirs. Go figure. Anyway, I love the protection the Rugged Keyboard Case provides for my iPad Air 2. The keyboard is excellent, except for one thing -- unlike almost every other ZAGG keyboard, this one inexplicably does NOT offer variable backlighting or different colors for the keyboard backlight. It's just white backlight, one brightness. Very disappointing considering the long wait and the cost for the keyboard. Why, ZAGG? I just don't get it. Otherwise, excellent keyboard case, I'm happy to have it and use it, but omitting brightness and color settings for the backlit keyboard was a big mistake.

I had to wait for months as it was back ordered but it is worth the wait. Well made and very strong. The Zagg website has it marked down less then Best buy right now (5-13-15) to $109.00. I would like to see other color options but thats not a big deal. Go for it.

I've been using this for almost 2 years now and the only downfall (as read in other reviews) is it's top heavy in keyboard mode. When using it in keyboard mode, I usually have it on my lap so I've never had it flip backwards on me due to the uneven weight. I mostly use it with the screen flipped around, where the iPad sits at a nice angle as the keyboard acts as a base. When in book-mode (iPad flat against keyboard) it is the perfect weight for using as a steering wheel in Asphault8 :) I can keep it on my bookshelf when stored because of it's rugged design. The rubber edges are super comfy in your hands and you don't feel like it's gonna slip at all. Highly recommend this product!

I love this case. It was a Xmas present from my mom. I dropped it several times, no breaking. Keyboard works great. But alas, like so many others, the magnetic properties in the hinge stopped working and it will no longer hold the iPad in place. I hate to think I have to buy a new case every year, not at the price we paid for it.

This is exactly the case for the user who mixes the needs for durability, portability and dependability! This rugged case goes with me EVERYWHERE! I often use it disconnected from the keyboard when I need it more portable and no real need for using a keyboard. But the actual laptop style when connected to the keyboard is amazing!

I am a Real Estate Agent and prefer to use my iPad for client presentation etc... This product has allowed me to ditch my lap top all together! It is a little heavy, but fits nicely in my purse. Eliminated the need to print out fliers of every house we are touring. Just detach the key board and give the client the iPad.

Case feels like military grade protection. It is heavy but it needs to be for the protection it provides.. Operates like a laptop. Screen comes off easily for use separate from keyboard. Keyboard is backlit. I bought the extra 2 year warranty but it seems sturdy enough to last more than two years.

bought early 2015 and now all hinges are broke . Started with one piece of plastic breaking off then continued to fall apart until now it is impossible for back to stay attached unless I open it while putting pressure on joint to keeep it together then put something with weight behind ipad screen to hold it up otherwise it falls to the table. I purchased this clam based on reviews and will now shop for adiffferent brand.

I shopped this one well. I read all of the reviews. I saw the warnings about the hinge, but purchase anyway. I have been super careful with the hinge. It is super stiff and I open it slowly and easily. Yet, the hinge broke anyway. 6 months of use and now it is practically useless as a noteboook type unit. This would be an easy fix by Zagg. Great features and form factor, but very poor Implementation.

This was a gift to a family member for Christmas. Read the reviews and only issue was the stiffness of the hinge. Well that was the problem. After 3 months of less then normal use, the hinge cracked in half due to the force needed to open up the ipad screen. Fix the hinge and the product would be great.

I purchased this less than a year ago and the hinge has completely given out. The case just flops open and I have to prop it up to use it. This is too expensive of a case for something like this to happen. Sorry but I simply cannot recommend this product. Shopping for a new case and brand now.
