A: Yes, you can separate the screen and keyboard. I think it's pretty easy to take apart and put together. It also looks like the car will not wear out from doing that repeatedly due to the design of the case.

Q: Does anyone know the difference between the P/N ID5RGK-BBO and ID6RGK-BBO? I have the unit with the "5", but the hinge is broke and cannot find any that have the "5" only the "6". I don't want to buy it off ebay or Amazon and have it be the wrong unit.

Great Product for what it does
I love this case. I had never purchased a keyboard case before, but I decided that I wanted to get one for my new iPad Air 2 because I wanted to be able to take it with me so I could type thus allowing me to stop taking my laptop everywhere. This case exceeded my expectations. My previous case was an Otter Box for my iPad 3rd Gen. I like this one much more than my old one. Not only is it rugged, but it has the Blue Tooth keyboard, and the back detaches really simply, so when I don't want to use the keyboard, I just pull the iPad away. It uses powerful magnets to attach. One thing to be aware of though, while this is a rugged case, it doesn't include a screen protector, but that was ok with me because I had wanted to get a glass screen protector because I've never really liked the plastic screen protectors that come with some rugged cases. BL: If your looking for a rugged case that will provide great protection along with a backlit blue tooth keyboard, this is probably your best option.

Protection plus function
It turned my iPad into a mini-laptop. Only thing missing is a mouse, I have to navigate with the touch screen. I like it a lot. The keypad battery lasts a long time (many hours before recharge). Of course I can detach the screen from the keypad since it connects with Bluetooth.
