    FULL CASE SPECS HERE

I just recieved this case, but I wanted to tell future consumers all the specs (even those NOT mentioned, for some odd reason). Keyboard: Lights up (white color), one brightness setting (on/off). Detaches. Viewing Positions: 3 different positions Thickness: NOTE! This case is 1 INCH THICK when closed. Covers buttons. LIGHTS: Press Fn key (bottom left) and the bottom right (right arrow) key to turn on/off lights. In terms of POSITIONS, there's 3 which I'll describe below: Position 3: Used just like a laptop (like photo). It rotates in this postion around 140 degrees. Position 2: After it's detached, you can place the ipad in facing the opposite way (away from keyboard) and it holds it up. Same rotating amount (can lay flat this way, keyboard held behind it, touching the back). Position 1: Can detach the ipad from keyboard. It appears to be a magnet/placed ridges to hold it in place system. Doesn't appear to be a lot of weaknesses in design. THICKNESS: I didn't realize just how thick it would be until after I read further down the reviews after buying it. Still, this case has everything I personally need. Because of the thickness, it does have some weight to it. WISHLIST? The only thing I wish I could change was that it'd be lighter, and that I could view the screen in portrait mode with the keyboard still in use, rather than just landscape mode. The thickness on the buttons (covering power button and volume controls) are a bit much...I have an hard time sometimes with volume since I have a gentle touch, and I really struggle to take screen shots since the power button is SO stiff with the case on. I wouldn't have minded if there were instructions on how to turn on the lights, or some of the button uses.

Rugged Book Air 2 - Excellent

I have used the Rugged Ipad Air version for business and personal use for over a year waiting for the Air 2 release. Thinking this case would never be released, I researched, tried out and returned the Zagg Slim Book (looks nice, but not for me) and the New Trent Airbender (priced right under $40 but not for power users). ClamCase is nice, but requires a headphone adapter with most headphones. Rugged Pros: ○Fits perfect, great protection and durability. Excellent grip as well vs smooth plastic or metal. ○Access holes give plenty of room for non Apple chargers and headphone connections. ○Keyboard functions well and battery life is great. Rugged Cons: ○Being "Rugged" does make it a little heavier/thicker than its competitors. ○Zagg removed keyboard dimming and color options. ○Price is a little steep so if your iPad does not leave home often it may not be worth the investment. Overall, great keyboard case. It is worth a look and Best Buy has a nice return policy if you are disappointed. Tip: hinge is magnetic and will hold (not secure) your pen.

    Great accessory to Air 2

I have been waiting for this case to come out since getting my Air 2 for Christmas. Must say, so far, well worth the wait. I looked at other options that provided a keyboard and case and none of them seemed "safe". I feared that if my iPad fell out it would get damaged. Not the case for this. The cover for the iPad gives great and sturdy security for my iPad. I feel comfortable with just carrying the case around without the keyboard whenever I want. Two heads up for potential buyers. 1. The case does add considerably weight to the iPad in comparison to without the case. Maybe about 2 lbs. For me though I very much like it because it decreases the likelihood that I could drop it (not like it would be a problem). 2. There is no screen protector kinda thing that comes with the case. However I have the ZAGG glass screen protector and it is perfectly fine. Lastly, the keyboard. I have used it sparingly so far. Actually typing up this review on it. It takes 3 secs to sync with the iPad and is very responsive. Really does turn your iPad into a semi touch screen laptop. Haven't figured out all of the shortcuts though yet but really liking it. Would say that it may feel a little small but it is very useful. Overall, really great set and very much recommend it.

I love this case. I had never purchased a keyboard case before, but I decided that I wanted to get one for my new iPad Air 2 because I wanted to be able to take it with me so I could type thus allowing me to stop taking my laptop everywhere. This case exceeded my expectations. My previous case was an Otter Box for my iPad 3rd Gen. I like this one much more than my old one. Not only is it rugged, but it has the Blue Tooth keyboard, and the back detaches really simply, so when I don't want to use the keyboard, I just pull the iPad away. It uses powerful magnets to attach. One thing to be aware of though, while this is a rugged case, it doesn't include a screen protector, but that was ok with me because I had wanted to get a glass screen protector because I've never really liked the plastic screen protectors that come with some rugged cases. BL: If your looking for a rugged case that will provide great protection along with a backlit blue tooth keyboard, this is probably your best option.

    Great protection for your iPad!

Overall its a great case, especially if you're afraid if you're going to drop your iPad. Great rugged protection! Was really looking forward for this come out, and I know this came out months ago, and I bought it months ago but having it for awhile I can give a better review I believe. The case does add some good amount of weight to your iPad, which can be a good or bad thing. Too me it didn't bother me too much but at some angles your iPad tips over which can be kinda of annoying. Another thing is that when you're opening the iPad it snaps off the hinge. So you have to basically hold it from the back while you're opening it up. A cool thing is that it turns on the iPad and closes it as well when you close the lid via the magnets on the iPad and Case itself. The keyboard, is nice, lighted keyboard for dark typing scenarios. But it is kinda small so its not really that ideal for typing much. I wish it was a little bigger, yea that would of made the case a bit wider but it would def. make much easier to type, the main purpose of getting a keyboard case. Another issue is more of an iOS issue, not really for the case i believe but I have used other bluetooth keyboards and didnt have this issue. But when messaging and hitting enter on the zagg keyboard it just creates a new line, not actually sending the message. So that is actually very annoying.

Awesome product but only white backlight

    Posted
    HappyInFL

Pros: It's everything the video shows and more (except the backlight colors). VERY solid, easily detachable, easily re-attachable. Laptop mode and video mode are awesome. My iPad Air 2 is now a laptop, love it. Initial concern: the iPad Air 2 model only comes with the color white as the keyboard backlight color. Zagg's own video for this product shows blue, and the Air model has 7 color choices! I felt a little left out as I was really looking forward to that, such an unexpected extra that didn't materialize with no warning . . . but honestly 12 hours later this was much less of a concern as this is such a superior product. Suggestions for the wonderful ZAGG folks: Incorporate some sort of stand on the device cover in order to increase case modes functionality - so there can be a Vertical, adjustable option for e-reading books and magazines. If this could also be done on the keyboard side for book mode? And I was looking for the backlight colors, bring them back please! Thanks for all consideration of the suggestions. You have an Awesome product.

This case is easily the best case I've had. While in "laptop" mode, the case can be a bit on the heavier side but the keyboard is durable and responsive. It can also be put into what I call viewing mode for ease of access while watching videos. If you don't want the keyboard at any given moment, it's easily detachable and the case for the iPad feels like a good case. I've dropped it and no damage has occurred, it is definitely a protective case. Now to the cons. There isn't that many but it is a bit heavier with the full case, keyboard and all. It also is a tad bit on the expensive side, but I bought this for a new iPad, so I was willing to pay for more. The only other problem is with the attachment system. The iPad case has two hole that the keyboard case inserts into. It seems a bit on the flimsier side but I haven't had any problems with it so far. All in all this is a great product that I would recommend for those on the go, looking to protect their devices and get the job done.

I bought this as a gift for the iPad Air 2 64GB that I bought my wife to use when returning to school. Obviously it fits great, as it should since it's made for this model of iPad. I honestly tried quite a few others and found this one to be the best addition. We wanted to have an illuminated keypad to add. This model provides a very responsive an efficient Bluetooth keypad. Disconnecting/reconnecting the iPad to the keypad is super simple. The hinge is sturdy and even with a good bit of use still holds true to its quality (it's not loosening, which is awesome). My wife can be a bit clumsy at times and though we have the apple insurance I still feel much better knowing that this cover is protecting it. I'm not willing to drop it on concrete to test it, but it has fallen onto both carpet and wood flooring so far and has been completely unharmed. It does add some weight and it does feel more bulky (because it is), but having better protection is worth it to us. It gives a look not unlike a toughpad used by field techs. We really like it a lot.
