Knowing in advance that this unit is new, not a refill is to your advantage. No worries about a scratched drum or toner from God knows where. This is a bit pricier than a refilled unit, but the quality is very important and the tread life is great. The refills I have bought in the past cost about $51 if I trade in my old one, but they just don't seem to last as long and the quality is lacking in some instances, but hey, if you know you are buying a refilled unit, then you should already know the quality is not going to be as good as a new unit.
