sound on those headphones is excellent
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I use my headphone mostly on my runs. Noise reduction is out of this world. One of the sides is sliding of my ear, don't know why. Neck bar is well balanced to keep it on my neck during run. Great headphones

Love the Bluetooth function
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. As soon as I saw that this was available at Best Buy. I saved up some money and went to the closest store to buy it. And I'm really happy to have bought it, because I use it most of the time. It's comfortable and the quality is great.

Great sounding headphones for the price!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Overall, these are absolutely great for all genres of music. Deep bass, high treble and good midrange punch. Only con is that the neck portion seems a little small and tends to slide around when moving around. Otherwise great purchase.

Really like to love these heaphones but...
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Really like to love these BT heaphones. They sound great, looks good and fit snugly inside the ears comfortably and without pain. But disappointingly, Sol Republic missed the most important part of owning BT headphones...BT RECEPTION! The BT signal of the Shadow is weak and sensitive to movement. I've tried 2 pairs and they both performed identically. It annoyingly cuts in and out when placed in the back pocket of my jeans while walking or doing other activities. I have to mention that there isn't a problem with BT signal when placed in front pockets. Took them on a 30 mile bicycle ride and it did the same thing the entire way. Mind you the distance between the phone and Shadow was just less than two feet from the inside of my jersey's back pockets. Other than that, everything is up to par with more expensive BT headphones. For those complaining about the collar falling off, look for an appropriate size S-biner or any closed type hook to hold the 2 wires together (see picture) keeping the collar from twisting/falling. Problem solved! My rating for each category. Sound 5 Fit 4 Design/functionality 3 Durability 4 Battery life 4 BT Reception 2 Looks 4 Call quality 5 Charging time 5

All-day battery life and good sound
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.SOL Republic makes the claim that the Shadow Bluetooth headphones offer "wired-equivalent" sound - and I'm inclined to agree. While they are not in the same class as a high-end set of UltimateEars in-ear monitors, the Shadow has clean sound, with clear highs (probably thanks to AptX technology) and deep, solid bass. They are not the most neutral set of headphones out there - they are definitely bass-oriented - but they don't sacrifice performance at other frequencies to achieve their bass performance. Comfort-wise, I am using the gels that came preinstalled on the Shadow - the headphones come with four different size soft ear gels, so most people should be able to find a good fit. You'll want to find a get that gives you a tight fit in your ear, otherwise you'll suffer from poor bass. Thanks to the in-ear monitor design, these do a decent job of isolating you from surrounding noise. While they won't make your last-row seat on the CRJ into a Zen meditation room, they are good at keeping normal room noise from intruding into your music. SOL Republic claims eight hour battery life, and based on my use, that sounds reasonable. The battery lasts through a typical workday for me, albeit at a fairly low volume level.

Great sound
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The sound quality with this one is excellent. Good true base. I would've ranked it five stars, however, the only issue I have with it is while working out it is hard to stay in place. With proper fit of the earbuds, they stay in. But as I said the wraparound is a bit more flexible than others. Not low-quality, just hard to keep it in place. Over all the sound quality, battery life, and use is very good. No issues so far. Owned for about six months.

Q: QuestionHow is the mic for phone calls? Can the other party hear you clearly?
Asked by Anonymous.
- A:Answer I use these for phone calls all the time walking around my college campus between classes. If I ever get a complaint from the person I'm talking to, it's that they can hear the people around me too clearly. The mic is fantastic.

Q: QuestionHow are these for long runs?
Asked by Kris.
- A:Answer I can't answer for runs. But I can tell you that I have had these on for a several hours at a time tilling my property, getting jerked all over the place by the tiller when it hits roots. I have also cleared brush with these while jumping in and out of the bed of my truck loading branches. And I have worn them on my utility tractor clearing high grass and small trees. All of these activities ended with very sore muscles, lots of sweat, joints that have ached from the jolting. Not a single time did these come out of my ears.

Q: QuestionDoes the cord retracts in and out of the main unit
Asked by Peter.
- A:Answer The cord does not retract in or out, it is a fixed position. I was worried about that as well. The cord is plenty long. I am 6'5" and have a long neck and it is not a problem for me at all. Absolutely great ear buds.

Q: QuestionDo I have to charge it? If so, how long does the battery last?
Asked by Dab.
- A:Answer Yes you have to charge them. They come with the charging cord. All you have to do is plug that cord into a existing usb cell phone charging outlet. I used the wall plug that I use to charge my iPhone. My charge lasted about eight hours which is pretty good for the price.
