For such a lightweight item, the pedestal is incredibly stable under the washer. I purchased it to raise the washer, but the big storage bin with adjustable dividers is icing on the cake. Easy to pop open by touching a toe on the silver spot, and easy to close the same way. Drawer glides like a dream, even full of heavy items.

These are a must have with the washer and dryer! I have a bad back and these pedestals are just the right size. No bending needed to switch or remove laundry. I love the storage as well! They hold all of my laundry items including the garbage can for lint. With a slight push I can drop the lint into the garbage can and close the drawer without bending.

I really love the pedestals. I'm so glad I got them and didn't scrimp. The storage is great and I love how easily they work and how large they are.

Great added height

We were hesitant to spend the extra money for pedestals, because we typically set the laundry basket on top of the machines. Well with these, you can just open it up and set it in front of the machine. It works great and the added height is nice on our backs. I can put all the laundry stuff away so the room is neat and tidy.

- Answer You can absolutely buy them at a later date and install them. The pedestals come with all needed mounting hardware to install, just keep in mind that the washer and dryer (especially the washer) are heavy so you will need multiple people to lift them on top of the pedestals.
