Fire Emblem: Awesome Posted by: from: on Fire Emblem: Awakening is a turn-based strategy game that takes place in a fantasy world consumed by war. You play as a brilliant tactician with a case of retroactive amnesia, weilding powerful magic against a group of mysterious and dangerous creatures known as the Risen. As you fight to protect your friends and country, your tragic past is slowly brought to the light, the truth a shocking revelation. With high-quality cutscenes and battles viewable from several perspectives, this story, as dramatic and heart-racing as any motion picture, is revealed, its twists and turns ensnaring you in rapt attention. Weapons, characters, and game difficulty are all adjustable, making for the perfect replayable game. You can even choose berween the Japanese and English audio for narration and cutscenes, both of which are amazing. This game also combines mechanics for level, equipment, and stat-based games, allowing for the ultimate fighting experience. Hard-core gamers, casual players, and otaku alike will all find in this game something incredible to enjoy.

Great for new and familiar fans of the series Posted by: from: Columbus, OH on The Fire Emblem series has always been rather obscure, but it seems at last that this franchise has gotten some proper recognition. A wonderful game for those just getting into the FE, yet still retaining the winning formula that has attracted it's original fanbase. A highly recommended 3DS title for any Strategy/RPG lover.

One of the best. Posted by: from: va on Everything you would expect from a Fire Emblem game with a new relationship system to make the gameplay even more compelling. One of the best games graphically on the 3ds as well. Snag this game up while you can!!

Excellent turn based RPG Posted by: from: Lynnwood, WA on This is a great game for anyone who is a fan of Final Fantasy Tactics. In combat (offense or defense), if you are next to an ally, the ally will assist you in battle. Each fight you have together increase the relationship between the characters. There are several difficulty settings to choose from. You can also choose to have allies that die in battle to never return, or have them return after you won the battle. Overall, if you want an in-depth game that is worth the money, this game is it. There are minor typos that appear every now and then, but it won't take the fun away from understanding the storyline.

Fun tactical rpg Posted by: from: on Very enjoyable game with fun gameplay and an interesting story. The game has good replay value because of its harder difficulties so it'll definitely keep you entertained for many hours.

If you like strategy RPGs, this one is for you... Posted by: from: on This game was my first purchase for the 3dsxl and I must say it does not dissapoint. The story is rich and the graphics are vibrant. The casual mode is a nice fail-safe to keep your army alive. Moreover, you will want all of your party members alive if you're like me because of the way their relationships develop, which makes you genuinely care about the outcome of each battle. The visceral battle system cut scenes are a nice way of letting you see the action up close, but can be skipped if you're short on time or if you've seen them already. Streetpass multiplayer is a fun addition to collect, trade, and battle other peoples squads. Overall, this is a brilliant game and a must play. It is the first game in a while to make me cry, so it is that good.

Great Strategy RPG for 3DS Posted by: from: on The veteran Fire Emblem series finally gets an excellent entry to the US market in the form of Fire Emblem Awakening. It makes for a great starting off point to newcomers to the Fire Emblem series, or fans of strategy RPGs in general. It also stands aside the recently-released Fire Emblem Fates as a game you should seek out even if you own its successor (and especially if you want more of the gameplay in a different land with a different story.) Great soundtrack and gameplay, and pretty good writing. Lots to love here for those interested in fleshing out all of the game's possibilities when it comes to paths and unit bonds/children. My only complaints do not tarnish the entire package too much -- some of the maps are a little on the uninteresting side, and the game has some minor balancing problems that can work for you or against you (pairing up units quickly becomes overpowered, and relies on the player to keep it honest or risk plowing through the game with little to no challenge.)
