Poor Cleaning - But it's Fancy
Posted by: Tony from: on
This is a fairly expensive, and very fancy washer. It has many different cycles to choose from and some pretty fancy options. That said, it does NOT clean your clothes well at all. After watching a few cycles it is easy to see that the poor cleaning is likely a result of very, very low water use. I may have a service representative take a look, but after reading other reviews it appears this is a very common issue and complaint. The Samsung service request form even has a specific option for it. I have now been manually adding 2-3 extra gallons, and can say once it has an appropriate amount of water it does a good job- but it's a huge pain in the butt, and something I shouldn't have to do. Unfortunately, according to Samsung, there is no easy way to increase the water it uses. I would HIGHLY recommend checking other brands or models, or going with a top-loader (probably the best option).

Completely disappointed with the washing machine. We had no idea it would take an hour and a half to wash a load of clothes. Unfortunately after that time, the clothes are not that clean. Stained items have to be retreated and washed again and sometimes even again which was not the case with our previous washing machine which only took forty minutes. The machine stays wet, water pools in the dispenser unit and drips from the door even after being wiped down. The door is so large and low that a laundry basket won't fit in front of it which requires us to set the basket down, open the door, slide the basket to the door to empty and then pull the basket back to close the door and start the load. Apologies, no more needs to be said except the delightful end of cycle signal is the only redeeming quality this machine has. We are incredibly disappointed and regret this purchase which we will have to deal with for years. UGH

Error Code AE6
Posted by: jp729 from: North of Houston, Spring, TX on
This washer was purchased in 2014. Stopped working June of 2016 when error code displayed AE6, which according to Samsung service manual means; "A Communication error between the Inverter PBA and the Main PBA, Call customer service". After reading Samsung's poor online customer reviews I decided to forgo a nightmare and replaced this washer with one WITHOUT electronic controls. No more Samsung products for us!

Samsung -Never again
Posted by: Jas808 from: on
I recently got a Samsung front loading washer from Best Buy, and it broke in less then 3 months. There customer service is AWFUL!!!!! The washers computer broke and locked my husbands cloths in the washer. They couldn’t send someone to look at it for 2 weeks. The clothes were stuck inside smelling up my house. Finally they came and got it open. The mechanic said he had to order a whole new mother board (another 2 weeks without a washer) He also stated if I were you I would ask them to replace the unit. When I called Samsung and let them know, they gave me a complete runaround. Finally when the mechanic returned to fix the washer- he said Samsung didn’t send all the parts he needed.
First off why are they rebuilding a machine that is less then 3 months old! Secondly, Samsung has not followed up with me at all despite the several times I have called and complained, Lastly Samsung has not offered any type of compensation or an attempt to try and make it right by issuing a new washer.
I WILL NEVER BUY SAMSUNG AGAIN!! I was planning on buying the matching dryer to have the set, but now refuse. Samsung does not stand by there products and treat there customers like dodo

Good washing machine

I've had this washing machine for two months. I was leery of buying another front loader due to the mold build up on my previous Kenmore Washer), but after reading tons of reviews and checking Consumer Reports I decided this was the way to go.
-They've redesigned the tub so it drains the water out. I have no sitting water in the rubber gasket to wipe out. This means no mildew!
-sleek looking design. Easy to use and figure out.
-Huge capacity! I can do twice as many loads as my old machine.
-Child lock to prevent kids from messing with the dials
-Spins the clothes out really well. Even though I have a smaller dryer, I'm still able to dry my clothes faster because they are so well spun.
-Cleans very well. Clothes don't have residue.
-Gentle on my delicate items.
-loads stay balanced. No more having to open the door and rearrange items mid cycle.
-quick wash cleans well if I'm in a hurry.
-Wash times are ridiculously long. The sanitize cycle is 2.5 hours!
-I haven't noticed a huge improvement in stain removal (even with steam) over my old machine.
-the machine is quieter overall, but the spin cycle can get very loud. My machine is balanced, but it still vibrates. I have a second floor laundry room, though, and have heard this is a common problem.
-This model doesn't come with a sport cycle
I have been very happy with this washer. I would recommend.

Two best weeks of my washing life.
Posted by: ShopperX from: on
The Samsung washer was fantastic. Got clothes amazingly clean, has a wide variety of easy-to-use features that make choosing the right cycle simple. We even behaved like folks from a commercial, holding up whites and gushing about how white they were. Then, less than three weeks in, the front seal popped off, leaving the restraining spring cascading around the drum. Spent the better part of several days with Best Buy and Samsung on the line getting Samsung to schedule a repair that still hasn't occurred. Hoping for a good outcome, but very disappointed that it had a failure so early in.

I bought this washer two months ago. It starts squeaking right after the purchase. I called Samsung and they sent a contract technician but after looking at it he said Samsung would not replace the machine if the problem is not related to main "washing" function (i.e., the noise coming from front and side metal sheets rubbing each other due to vibration). I talked with BestBuy, and they were nice enough to replace with a new one (the same model). However, the second washer has exactly the same noise problem as the previous one. Compared with a LG front loading washer I owned before, the design/built is clearly inferior. This is my first Samsung and I am very disappointed and dissatisfied.

Seal on this washing machine broke after 3 months of normal household use. Samsung would not cover the part under warranty and we will be paying for the repair out-of-pocket.

Lots of issues1
Posted by: mpratt62 from: on
To start, and this is more to do with Best Buy than the actual dryer, the guys who "installed" the dryer, seemed to do an awesome job and we tipped them well as they were fast and easily moved 2 bulky old machines for us. They also taped up the trap door on the bottom that they likely broke and cracked the dial on the washer. I thought, at first it was where the plastic ended until I went to take the plastic piece off and noticed it didnt exist. Upon closer inspection, they taped shut the little door on the bottom of the machine because it will not stay closed without it. So they know they did it.
But whatever, with three kids it will likely get broken eventually anyway, and none of the damage would impact performance.
First thing I noticed is not much water goes into the machine. Making me skeptical about how clean the clothes were getting but I put on an extra rinse, and that is what being low efficiency is all about right? Any clothes started coming out still smelling like worn clothes, but it didnt seem too bad and I really hate to complain and really do not want to deal with this, I just hoped it would go away, like maybe the machine just needed to warm up or something.
Well my 5 year old wets the bed sometimes and I got his clothes in first thing this morning and my fiance asked me to smell it and they still smell like urine. The cycle we are using now BTW is the one that takes 3 hours! This machine is terrible, and I dont know how anyone could recommend it after using it for awhile.

I sold my last Samsung front load w/d with my previous home, and had no hesitation buying another set, but wish I would have. The last set was so quiet I could not hear it running when I was a few feet away. Even though this washer received great ratings for low noise, it sounds and feels like a freight train barreling through the house regardless of setting. It does get points for cleaning the clothes, which is its purpose, but it's so loud we have to leave the house when it's running or you cannot hear yourself think
