The combination also increases the high sensitivity light capturing efficiency of a native ISO of 102400 for still images. The improved Dual Pixel CMOS AF II with 1,053 AF Points features evolved EOS iTR tracking for subjects such as people, animals, as well as select cars and motorcycles*** down to EV -7.5. The EOS R3 also allows the user multiple ways of controlling AF using Eye Control AF, Smart Controller with home position and the classic multi-controller. The camera also includes a new multi-function hot shoe which alleviates the need for extra batteries and cables in accessories such as micro¬phones and flash transmitters. Moved up from an R6. R3 delivers as promised. No noticeable rolling shutter. Tons is customizable options for buttons. 30 frames per second is a bit of overkill for me. But 20 fps works out great. All of my EF lenses adapt perfectly. Battery life is not as long as my 1DX2 since there’s always a screen on at some point vs the optical viewfinder on my DSLR. Much less noise at high ISO than my R6.

Coming from a 5dmk4 and the upgrade is massive. Autofocus is much more accurate. It was a steep price but it’s been well worth the extra money. Works great with ef/rf adapter. I love the “thumb mouse” for auto focus. Batteries are great, I bought a second back up and I don’t ever have to worries about not having enough. (At least for stills). Cf express are a blessing, really helping in the download speeds. Check out more images with the camera @ryantfoley on instagram.
