A: To find out if this Cyber Power unit works on your device, just take the Amperage (AMPS) of your device & your Voltage draw (V) or (VOLTS) and multiply them together to get the number of Wattage or (W) draw needed to power your device. (Volts) X (Amps) = (Watts) Example... If you want to plug-in a laptop into this Cyber Power 160W unit and your laptop uses 1.3 Amps @ 120 Volts, then the Wattage required is 156W. The Cyber Power 160W unit will be suitable to work. The (12V DC) unit just needs to be rated @ a higher Wattage rating than your device draw to work and also to help avoid blowing a fuse on the vehicles (12V DC) cigarette outlet. Hopefully this helps.... Thank You!
A: Hello, Power Inverter response (suggestion): The CyberPower 160 Power Inverter (CPS160PBURC1) converts power from your vehicle's 12V DC power outlet to power up to 120 watts continuous to your connected equipment. This device can be used with or without your car started but depending on the amount of current draw from your equipment, the car battery will eventually draw down. It’s best to start the car periodically to charge the battery as needed.
Q: What can you plug into the red switches
A: The red switches cover regular 110v outlets. Pretty much anything you would pull into an outlet at your house can be plugged into this.
Q: Is this safe to use with a mac laptop?
A: Yup I have a Mac Pro on it now...
Q: Will it sustain a home heating pad
A: No! It worked for a little while and then I noticed the on /off switch was getting too hot! After a bit I noticed it was starting to smolder, the plastic was over heating! I think it would have started a fire if I had not unplugged it. Apparently the inverter doesn’t reduce the energy sufficiently. I would not recommend using this for a heating pad.
