Product Manuals

Q: How long does it take to boil water on this induction cooktop?

A: It can boil 1.5 quarts of water from room temperature in 7 minutes.

Q: Is this Hamilton Beach cooktop faster than a regular stovetop?

A: Yes, it heats up 40% faster than a typical smoothtop range or stove when boiling water.

Q: How do I know if my cookware is compatible with induction cooking?

A: The cooktop comes with an induction test magnet. If the magnet sticks to your pan, it is induction-ready.

Q: What pan sizes can I use with this cooktop?

A: You can use pans from 4 to 10 inches in diameter.

Q: Does this cooktop have precise temperature control?

A: Yes, you can set the temperature in Fahrenheit (180-450) or Celsius (82-232).

Q: Just to clarify... What is a standard induction pot/pan? The answer above is about as useful as a bicycle for fish. In the description it says "small 4" diameter saucepans up to 10" diameter frying pans and stockpots!" How large a stockpot?

A: That's actually two questions... "Standard induction pot/pan" - Induction cooking works by magnetically inducing a current inside of your pot or pan; that can ONLY work if your pot or pan is magnetic. All-aluminum is out, and (surprisingly) so is a lot of stainless steel (the chromium that keeps it from rusting also makes it non-magnetic). If a magnet won't stick to the bottom of your pot, it WILL NOT work with induction. There's a refrigerator magnet included with this unit so you can test. "How large a stockpot" - the depth/volume don't matter; what matters is that the whole bottom of the pot or pan needs to fit on the induction plate. Your stockpot can be as tall as you like (within reason!); as long as the bottom fits on the cooktop AND it's magnetic, you're golden.
