Ion Fury is a true old-school first-person shooter from legendary 3D Realms, publisher 1C Entertainment and indie studio Voidpoint, set in a cyberpunk metropole. Shelly “Bombshell” Harrison takes on a quest to slay evil transhumanist mastermind Dr. Jadus Heskel in the streets of Neo DC. She leaves a trail of carnage throughout huge, multi-path levels filled with gigantic explosions, more secret areas than we can count, and inhuman foes behind every corner. There’s no regenerating health here; stop taking cover and start running and gunning. Shelly’s crusade to take down Heskel’s army will see her leave destruction in her wake with a wide arsenal of weapons, complete with alternate fire modes and different ammo types. Ion Fury laughs at the idea of mandatory checkpoints and straight paths through shooting galleries. But, just because this is a true old-school first-person shooter doesn’t mean we've ignored all the good new stuff the last two decades have brought. Headshots? Hell yeah. More physics and interactivity? You betcha. 3DRealms, Voidpoint and 1C Entertainment have taken the best of both worlds and cooked it all into a bloody stew.

Old school FPS
If you like the old school Doom, Duke Nukem, blood you’ll like this game. Straight up action pack

Fun Little Indie FPS.
Game is fine and not too hard to 100% trophies if you use a walkthrough as they placed too may hidden secrets and some enemies can be tricky to find. Watch out for the glitch that can affect your 100% run with those cyborg centipedes. Keep backup saves at the beginning of every level to best avoid it. Hope they make an FPS like Half Life or FEAR next.

Fun old school shooter
If you are into old school shooters like Doom and especially Duke Nukem, then this game is for you. It’s a fun shooter full of secrets and Easter eggs. This game has actually been out for a while now on the psn store for $25. But if you want a physical copy then this is the best way to get one, although it’s $30. Also keep in mind that this game is supposed to be getting dlc later this year which sort of makes a disc copy worthless since the dlc itself won’t be on the disc. This disc copy is also the same as the European copy that’s been out for a while. Only difference is that the Best Buy one has a different cover with the ESRB rating on the cover. Still this is one of the better games I have played and recommend it to any gamer who likes 90’s shooters.
