  • Features
    • Hard Food Disposer: false (This feature has blades to chop and disintegrate hard food particles, making them small enough to easily drain away. This prevents them from being recirculated back onto dishware and allows for easy maintenance.)
    • Drying Method: Condenser drying (Appliances that use heat to dry the dishes will include a heating element or minerals which transform moisture into heat. A fan or vent then circulates the hot dry air throughout the tub during the drying cycle. This may reduce drying time and the risk of water spots. Appliances that use minerals to produce heat are considered more energy efficient than those that include a heating element. Appliances that use condensation drying are considered more energy efficient than those that use heated drying. Instead, high temperature water is produced during the final rinse cycle which warms the interior and eventually condensates and drains out of the machine.)

Q: Both the LG website and the ABT website list this model as having TruSteam, but it is not mentioned here, although it does say "Heated Drying" which the others don't So exactly what doe this model have? LG and ABT do not list TruSteam in the description.

A: Model LDTS5552D has TrueSteam® jets located on the door and active steam jets located at top and bottom of the dishwasher, the power of steam penetrates food residue, sanitizes, and minimizes water spots during drying by up to 60% and offers 100°C TrueSteam® sanitizes from every angle. It is listed in the overview on the Best Buy website. This unit has a Hybrid Drying System. This efficient drying system does not use a heating element during the drying process resulting in superior energy efficiency and gentle care for dishes. It is recommended to use a liquid rinse aid to improve the drying performance by allowing water to drain off of dishes after final rinse. ^Daphane

Q: Does this dishwasher open at the end to let the steam out?

A: no. In fact, there is a LOT of moisture inside after drying that still leaves the dishes wet and needing to be towel dried. not happy so far

Q: My countertop reaches over the top of the dishwasher. Can the buttons be used with the door open then close the door to start the cycle?

A: Yes. To operate the machine, either press Start and close the door within four seconds or close the door and press Start. (An alert will sound when the door is not closed within 4 seconds after you press Start button). ^Nikki

Q: Does this not come with a power cord.?.?

A: Hello, the power cord is not included. You can hook it up directly to the home wiring or purchase a appliance cord with the appropriate 4 prong plug on the end.^Venette

Q: Why is the tub always wet? Is there a model that completely dries dishes and interior tub?

A: The tub is possibly wet because the dishwasher does not have a heating element. It uses a hybrid drying system during the drying process resulting in superior energy efficiency and gentle care for dishes. Most current models use the same Hybrid Drying System. ^Daphane

Q: I purchased this dishwasher but the wifi button does not turn on despite holding down for 3 seconds. Does anyone have any ideas to get the buttons to work?

A: Press and hold the 'Delay Start' button, which apparently turns on the wifi! Ugh. They have made this so complicated!
