Student Confidential - BLU-RAY

Fanning the flames of Eisenhower America's growing paranoia, Jack Arnold's HIGH SCHOOL CONFIDENTIAL! Is the quintessential juvenile delinquency film - celebrating the very S*x-drugs-and-rock'n'roll culture it pretends to condemn. Russ Tamblyn (WEST SIDE STORY) stars as Tony Baker, the new kid at Santa Bellow High, whose cocky attitude and ambitious weed-dealing enable him to infiltrate the gang of a local narcotics boss (Jackie Coogan). But HIGH SCHOOL CONFIDENTIAL! Is much more than a hardboiled crime picture. It's is a pop-culture touchstone, a Rebel Without a Cause without the angst, embellished by the insanely shapely Mamie Van Doren, beat poetry for the hip set, and, of course, the throbbing theme music of Jerry Lee Lewis.

After his wife died abroad, British diplomat John Duncombe (Anthony Quayle) returned from Florence to confront his two young sons, the elder Andrew (Stefano Colagrande) and the sickly Miles (Simone Giannozzi) with the news. Affecting take on the Florence Montgomery novel co-stars John Sharp, Giorgia Moll, Graziella Granata. 104 min. Widescreen; Soundtrack Italian; Subtitles English; featurettes; theatrical trailer. Industrialist Cornelis van Doorn (Kees Brusse) got so filthy rich because he wasted nothing... as demonstrated by how he turned the animal hormone waste from his slaughterhouses into a side business of birth control pills. The time came, though, when he had to choose a successor from amongst his kids, legitimate or otherwise-and the only competent candidate (Rudolf Lucieer) was cursed with ethics. Sexy satire co-stars Andrea Domburg, Hugo Metsers, Sonja Barend. 107 min. Widescreen; Soundtrack Dutch; Subtitles English; audio commentary; bonus short InchFestival of LoveInch (1969); image gallery; theatrical trailers. In Dutch with English subtitles.
