Rush prove to be prog rock powerhouses
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Rush really know how to deliver a masterpiece. The first track of this album is a seven part opus entitled "2112." It is a conceptual piece that tells an epic story of a futuristic society in which the main character finds and learns how to play the guitar. He appeals to the presiding "Priests of Syrinx" to let him teach the people of this society music. They deny his request and tell him that music is the reason behind the downfall of the former society of which they descend from. The story continues in such a cinematic and captivating way that you will be thinking of it in the same way you might think of a book you were reading. The other five tracks are equally as good, and demand to be heard as well. I truly believe that a better group of musicians has never come together; because each member of Rush utilizes the others talents to make a more cohesive record. They really pulled it off on 2112 and I hope that you will recognize the greatness of this album.

Great album, but where are the liner notes?
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Great album but this "slimline" addition has no liner notes in it. It has the cover, the CD, and one interior panel. I'm almost certain the original album had lyrics, thank yous, etc. This does not. The artwork is pretty barebones. While it obviously doesn't negatively impact the quality of the music (which is excellent, of course) it is disappointing. Had I known it was missing these, I would have purchased a different version.
