Great tablet for the price.
|Posted .This tablet is compact, yet stylish. It surpasses what’s typical for tablets of its class. Resembles an iPad mini. A micro-SD slot is certainly an advantage of the Iconia A1-830 over the iPad Mini and enables expanding the 16 GB of storage easily and cost-efficiently.
I would recommend this to a friendRating 5 out of 5 stars with 1 review

Very nice
|Posted .I would recommend this to a friendI wanted an iPad mini but I did not want spend 3 to 4 hundred dollars, so when I saw this Acer Iconia A1 on sale for $150, I did some research and reviews and decided to try it. I already have the iPad 2, so I am familiar with tablets. This Acer works just as well (as I need it to) as my iPad 2. It's fast, and while it takes a little longer to turn on, it has a great picture and responds like my iPad. Set up is a breeze, it fits well in my hand, and has 5 megapixel camera. If you don't need the retina display and everything that the iPad mini offers, this Acer Iconia A1 just might be the answer, I know it is for me.

Great Tablet for New Beginners
|Posted .I would recommend this to a friendI purchased this tablet for my mom who live in Florida. She has been wanting a tablet for a long time now. She is not as tech-savvy as I am. It seems as though nowadays people rarely carry bibles to church anymore in this very technology-filled world; hence the reason I purchased this for my mom. After purchasing it, I quickly set up this tablet for her as I had to ship it to her in Florida. During my hands-on experience in the store with this tablet, I felt this was the right purchase for her. Initially I was turned off a bit online by it because it was white and I preferred the black one for her. However, once I saw it in person in the store, it looked amazing and also came along with an amazing price $129.99. So after getting home with it, being it was an Android tablet I quickly set up an email address for my mom, and downloaded any necessary Android updates for it. Using this tablet was pretty awesome. The setup was quick and easy and the Google Play store was filled with a plethora of apps for her to peruse and download at her convenience; though I did download the bible app for her. The screen size was perfect for her as well as the weight of the tablet was just right and it felt comfortable to hold in the hands. Due to my young nephews and others always around at my mom's house, I also purchased a case for her to help keep it in pristine condition without worry of scratches or accidental. She absolutely adores this tablet and feels as though she has entered the technology world, though she already has a computer. So far in talking with her, I have yet to hear of any issues regarding the tablet. She has been teaching herself not only how to use the bible app but other apps as well on her tablet. My sister then saw then tablet and went out and purchased one for herself as well the very next day.

Great for surfing the web and email etc....
|Posted .I would recommend this to a friendI bought the ISIGNIA 8in tablet for my Fiance' for Christmas and it was slow and the screen went out in a few months, it just died so we buried it! I exchanged it for this 7.9in ACER just a few days ago and she is super happy with the much faster speed and the white frame! I hope this one lasts her for many years, thanks Best Buy for the great customer service! Thank you Jake & Betsy in the Santa Rosa store off Santa Rosa Ave, CA. Ya'll Rock!!! :-)

Great tablet, great value.
|Posted .I would recommend this to a friendI bought this tablet one day before a three week a trip since mine went into "panic mode" two days before leaving. I did a little research and bought this tablet based on reviews. I am so pleased with it. I am not a heavy uses but did use it to check on my bank statement, e mails, Facebook and games. It is an eight inch tablet but looks much bigger than my higher priced seven inch tablet. I have since gotten my" brand name" tablet fixed but I prefer my Acer. I plan on giving an Acer as a gift.

Great tablet for a special needs child
|Posted .I would recommend this to a friendI purchased the Acer tablet for my little sister who has down syndrome. The tablet is easy for her to navigate through Apps and very practical in size & weight. She loves to play educational games and thanks to those games we have noticed a great improvment in her grades at school. When she finishes her homework she is then entitled to watch her shows on Netflix or Hulu; her obsession. Seeing my little sister happy with her tablet makes me happy with my purchase. I would totally recommend this product to others.

Surprisingly Useful Tablet
Posted .I would recommend this to a friendI was hesitant to buy another tablet after my first go around with a 7" tablet but I am glad I did. For the price this is an excellent tablet and does everything I need it to. From email, to endless browsing, light gaming, youtube binging, pandora listening, it all just works great. It is fast and smooth and is a pleasure to use. A lot of people get caught up in specs when it comes to tablets, phones, PCs, etc. but I don't buy into it. I relate this tablet to my Moto X phone. Sure the screen is "lower" resolution (Tell that to someone who grew up playing N64!) , does it look good to me, you bet. I see no issue with it at all and my chromecast is only a click away if it really bothered me. The screen on my Moto X was labeled as low-spec also and that works awesome too. As an added bonus, the screen draws less power than full HD so while you are having to charge your battery I'm happily browsing/playing/whatever. The battery life has also been great. The standby time is insane which really helps cut back on needing to charging. I also love the 4:3 aspect ratio of this 8" screen. Like the popular iPad mini, the size of the screen is perfect for everyday use and productivity. I hated the 7" tablet I had before. Everything on it felt cramped, I always had to zoom while web browsing. The extra inch and aspect ratio really help with usability. The dual core processor in my Moto X was also labeled as low-spec and it is smooth as silk. I wouldn't say this is quite on par with it but it still responds very well to what I ask of it. Only extreme multitasking brings it down but kill a few apps and I'm back on track. Not a big deal here. I am glad I decided to give a tablet another shot. I love the form factor, more screen area that all 7" yet lighter and easier to hold than all 10".. While everyone else talks about specs and spends hundreds more I am perfectly content with my Acer. Bottom line for me is this is an excellent tablet for the price and for what I use it for.

Q: Questionon a scale of 1 to 5, 5 being the greatest sound - how does it measure. I purchased a different brand and sound is so bad i'm looking for another on
Asked by Beebs.
- A:Answer The Yamaha is very clear even at high volume. I don't play my music loud enough to bring down the walls but I do like it loud. Plus I like the volume of movies ( the surround sound) equal to a movie theater. This system is able to handle it wonderfully.
