Q: Can you tie this watch to a current phone line?
A: I don't know about a land line, but my series 6 Apple watch is certainly tied to my iPhone 8. I get all the e-mails, messages etc any thing that is on my iPhone, like Ring Doorbell, security, I get constant updates and alerts. I am still learning how to use and access everything,. It is my firt Apple Watch.
Q: The series 6 do need to carry your phone at all times to use the watch phone applications.
A: As I understand it, if you have the cellular version, it will act as a standalone phone independent of an iPhone. But you must pay the carrier something extra about 20 bucks I think to get service on it. However if you never leave home without your phone, then you probably don't need the cellular version, and they can just tie into your phone that you're carrying with you. Also this is the way you would have it at the house. But if you're going to separate the watch from the phone beyond Wi-Fi distance between them, and want to watch to be a phone, you're gonna need the cellular version, as I understand it.
A: The battery life is phenomenal. My wife's watch lasts at least 24 hours depending on how much she uses it. Of course the more apps, calling, texts, etc. , That you use it for will drain faster but I give this battery life a definite 10/10.
