- A:Answer Hello, Thank you for your interest in the XPS 12 Ultrabook. As it turns out, there is not a stand-by like button that instantly turns off the screen while keeping the programs running (music playback for example). In tablet mode, pressing the power button puts the XPS 12 is standby mode, so you can’t really wake it up instantaneously. Hope this helps! JonathanNforDell
