Pixel 8 Pro: PIXEL PERFECT or PIXELATED?
||Posted . Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I'm excited to share my thoughts on the new Google Pixel 8 Pro, which is available now at Best Buy. As a longtime user of the Samsung Galaxy line, I'm eager to see what features Google has in store. And I'm happy to report that the Pixel 8 Pro doesn't disappoint at least for me. With its sleek new design, upgraded cameras, and powerful performance, this is one of the best smartphones on the market right now. Whether you're looking for a phone with a great camera, a long-lasting battery, or a clean and simple software experience, the phone has something to offer everyone. In this review, I'll take a closer look at all of the key features and see how it stacks up against other flagship smartphones. I'll also share my thoughts on its overall performance and value. WHO IS THE PIXEL 8 PRO FOR? This phone is for people who want one the best Android smartphones on the market. It's not cheap, but it's worth the price for its excellent performance, cameras, and software. It is also a good choice for people who want a phone with a clean and simple software experience. Android 14 is the latest version of Android, and it's packed with new features and improvements. Finally, it is a good choice for people who want a phone with a great camera. This phone has one of the best cameras on the market, and it's capable of taking stunning photos and videos in any lighting condition. WHO IS NOT THE PIXEL 8 PRO FOR? You need your phone to last all day on a single charge. You want a camera that can zoom in really close without losing any quality. You need a phone with a ton of storage space. You want your phone to charge as fast as possible. You hate the camera bar on the back of the phone. DESIGN AND BUILD QUALITY: The phone has a sleek and minimalist design, with a matte glass back and a polished aluminum frame. It's available in other colors too but I'm reviewing mine. This phone is a bit heavier and larger than what I'm used to. But it's still comfortable to hold and use, even with one hand. The rounded edges and matte glass back make it feel grippy and secure in the hand. It is also very well-built. The materials feel high quality, and the construction is solid. There are no gaps or creaks, and the buttons and ports are all well-machined. Overall, it has an excellent design and build quality. It's a sleek and stylish phone that feels solid and well-built. Here are some of the KEY DESIGN AND BUILD QUALITY FEATURES of the phone: Matte glass back that is resistant to fingerprints and scratches. Polished aluminum frame that is durable and stylish. Rounded edges that make the phone comfortable to hold. IP68 water and dust resistance. Corning Gorilla Glass Victus 2 protection on the front and back of the phone. I really like the matte glass back. It looks great and feels nice to the touch. It's also less prone to fingerprints and scratches than the glossy glass backs on other smartphones. DISPLAY: It has a 6.7-inch OLED display with a resolution of 1440 x 3120 pixels and a pixel density of 512 ppi. It features a variable refresh rate of up to 120Hz, which means that the display can adjust its refresh rate to match the content being displayed, saving battery life. The display is one of the best on any smartphone. It's bright, sharp, and has excellent color reproduction. The viewing angles are also very good, so you can still see the screen clearly even when viewing it from an angle. It is also very responsive. I didn't experience any lag or stuttering when using the phone, even when playing games or watching videos. I've been testing it for a short time but I'm very impressed with the display. It's one of the best displays on any smartphones I've used, and it's perfect for watching videos, playing games, and browsing the web. Here are some of the KEY DISPLAY FEATURES: 6.7-inch OLED display with a resolution of 1440 x 3120 pixels and a pixel density of 512 ppi Variable refresh rate of up to 120Hz HDR10+ support Corning Gorilla Glass Victus 2 protection I particularly like the variable refresh rate display. It's a great way to save battery life without sacrificing performance. I also like that the display is very bright and has excellent color reproduction. It's perfect for watching videos, playing games, and browsing the web. PERFORMANCE: It is powered by the new Google Tensor G3 chip. This chip is custom designed specifically for Pixel phones, and it offers significant performance improvements over the previous Tensor chip. It is designed to be fast and efficient, and it's optimized for machine learning tasks and not just focused on raw performance. In real-world usage, this phone can handle anything I've been throwing at it. It can easily handle demanding tasks like gaming, video editing, and augmented reality. It's also very good at multitasking, and you can easily switch between multiple apps without experiencing any lag. I tested the phones performance using a variety real world apps. The phone performed flawlessly in all of my tests. Apps loaded quickly, games ran smoothly, and multitasking was no problem. Even though its raw performance lags behind from the top 2 competitors (aka a17 and Snapdragon 8 gen 2), the Pixel 8 Pro benefits the most from Google's software optimizations. For example, the phone features a new "Smooth Display" mode that makes everything look and feel more fluid. Overall, even though it lags in raw power from the top competitors, it's one of the fastest and smoothest smartphones I've ever used and I didn't notice any lag in real world usage. Here are some of the REAL-WORLD PERFORMANCE OBSERVATIONS I made: Apps loaded quickly, even complex apps like Photoshop Express and Lightroom. Games ran smoothly, even at high settings. I was able to multitask between several apps without any lag or stuttering. The phone didn't get too hot, even when I was using it for demanding tasks like gaming or video editing. CAMERAS: This phone has a triple-lens rear camera system consisting of a 50MP main sensor, a 48MP ultrawide sensor, and a 48MP telephoto sensor with 5x optical zoom. The front-facing camera has a resolution of 10.5MP with autofocus (I noticed that it doesn't looks as sharp as my wifes iPhone Pro 15 selfie camera but it is not bad by any means) . The main camera is particularly impressive. It takes sharp and detailed photos with excellent color reproduction. The ultrawide camera is also very good, and it's great for capturing wide-angle shots of landscapes and groups of people. The telephoto camera is also very good, and it allows you to zoom in on your subjects without losing too much detail. CAMERA FEATURES: "Cinematic Mode" that allows you to create videos with a cinematic look and feel. "Magic Eraser" tool that allows you to remove unwanted objects from your photos. "Night Sight" mode that takes bright and clear photos in low light conditions. "Real Tone' feature ensures that people of color are represented accurately in your photos. As you can tell the phone offers a variety of features that make taking great photos and videos easy. Overall, I think this phone has one of the best camera systems on any smartphone. It's a great phone for photographers and videographers of all skill levels. BATTERY: This phone has a 5050mAh battery, which is slightly larger than the average battery on smartphones. This extra battery capacity translates into longer battery life. As of now I was able to get almost full day of use out of the Pixel 8 Pro on a single charge, even with heavy use. I was able to watch videos, play games (I'm just a casual gamer so I don't play a whole lot), browse the web, and use social media all day long without having to worry about running out of battery. The phone has a number of battery-saving features, such as Adaptive Battery and Battery Saver mode. Adaptive Battery learns your usage patterns and optimizes battery life accordingly. Battery Saver mode reduces performance and disables some features to extend battery life. SOFTWARE: As you already may know this phone ships with Android 14, the latest version of Google's mobile operating system. Android 14 is a relatively minor update to Android 13, but it does include a number of new features and improvements. A new design with a focus on simplicity and usability. Improved performance and battery life. New security features to protect your privacy. New accessibility features to make your phone easier to use. New features for developers to create more innovative and engaging apps. In short, the Pixel 8 Pro's software. It's clean, simple, and easy to use. It also comes with a number of exclusive features that make it one of the most versatile and powerful smartphones on the market. CONCLUSION: Personally, I'm loving my Pixel. I'm a big fan of photography so the excellent camera performance is a huge plus for me. I also love the phone's fast performance and long battery life. I can easily get through almost a full day of use on a single charge. The only thing I'm not crazy about is the front facing camera. I think it looks a bit bland and uninspired, and the camera bump it's a little bit bigger than I would like to, but that's just a personal preference. Overall, I'm very happy with my Pixel and I would definitely recommend it to others.

A versatile device with extra ordinary performance
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Excellent phone. I have used Pixel 7 Pro, but this year, 8 Pro comes with more features like audio canceling while recording video. the camera is the best in the world, especially the night mode camera; it can even beat the iPhone 15 pro. Google Pixel has another option, i.e., when you are talking to customer care, you do need to be on hold, when it connects, the phone alerts us; this is another best feature, so there is no need to wait a long time on call until it connects. Additional options like Magic Eraser and other individual camera settings are awesome. It has already fallen down two times and never had any cracks; the device is robust and strong, and it can last longer. the battery lasts is good on average. I'm getting one day of charge with moderate usage, and the heating issues are not there; I was skeptical initially about whether to buy it or not. Somehow, I bought and tested with usage how long the device heats up. fortunately, it is a cool and good performance. Last but not least, the software update with Google Assistant is so advanced with suggestions; it is an awesome device with extraordinary performance.

Pixel 8 Pro Review: A Great Phone with a Few Glitc
||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Overall, I am very satisfied with the Pixel 8 Pro. It has a great feel in the hand, is incredibly fast, and has one of the best cameras on any smartphone. However, there are a few glitches that I have noticed, which I will discuss in more detail below. **Design and Build Quality** The Pixel 8 Pro has a sleek and modern design. It is made of a combination of glass and metal, and it feels very solid in the hand. The phone is also relatively thin and light, making it easy to carry around. I am particularly impressed with the build quality of the Pixel 8 Pro. The phone feels very well-made, and there are no gaps or misalignments anywhere. The buttons are also clicky and responsive. **Display** The Pixel 8 Pro has a 6.7-inch OLED display with a resolution of 3120 x 1440 pixels. The display is very sharp and bright, and it has excellent viewing angles. I also really like the fact that the display has a high refresh rate of 120Hz, which makes everything look and feel very smooth. **Performance** The Pixel 8 Pro is powered by the latest Google Tensor chip, which is one of the fastest mobile processors on the market. As a result, the phone is incredibly fast and responsive. I have had no problems running any apps or games on the Pixel 8 Pro, and everything loads very quickly. **Camera** The Pixel 8 Pro has one of the best cameras on any smartphone. It has a triple-lens rear camera system with a 50MP main sensor, a 12MP ultrawide sensor, and a 48MP periscope telephoto sensor with 5x optical zoom. The main sensor on the Pixel 8 Pro is excellent. It takes sharp and detailed photos in all lighting conditions. The ultrawide sensor is also very good, and it takes great photos with a wide field of view. The telephoto sensor is also very good, and it allows you to take close-up photos of distant objects without losing any quality. The Pixel 8 Pro also has a number of advanced camera features, such as Night Sight, Magic Eraser, and Real Tone. Night Sight allows you to take great photos in low light conditions, Magic Eraser allows you to remove unwanted objects from your photos, and Real Tone ensures that all skin tones are represented accurately. **Battery Life** The Pixel 8 Pro has a 5003mAh battery, which is larger than the batteries in most other flagship smartphones. As a result, the Pixel 8 Pro has excellent battery life. I have been able to easily get through a full day of use on a single charge, even with heavy usage. **Software** The Pixel 8 Pro runs on Android 13, which is the latest version of Google's mobile operating system. Android 13 is a great operating system, and it is full of new features and improvements. I particularly like the Material You design language in Android 13. It allows you to customize the look and feel of your phone to match your personal style. I also like the fact that Android 13 is very stable and reliable. **Glitches** I have noticed a few glitches with the Pixel 8 Pro. One glitch is that the phone sometimes freezes for a few seconds. Another glitch is that the camera app sometimes crashes. However, these glitches are relatively minor, and they do not happen very often. I am confident that Google will fix these glitches in future software updates. **Conclusion** Overall, I am very satisfied with the Pixel 8 Pro. It is a great phone with a great feel in the hand, excellent performance, and one of the best cameras on any smartphone. However, there are a few glitches that I have noticed, which I am confident that Google will fix in future software updates. **Pros:** * Great feel and build quality * Excellent performance * One of the best cameras on any smartphone * Long battery life * Android 13 is a great operating system **Cons:** * A few minor glitches, such as occasional freezes and crashes **Overall rating: 4.5 out of 5 stars**

this phone is a lot of camera
||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. As the old saying goes, the best camera is the one you got with ya. And I am not carrying my $15k worth of studio gear with me on an evening walk. Googles computational photography engineers have FINALLY released a product that allows me to take acceptable photos with a mobile device. Don't get me wrong, I love me some Apple engineering too. I just get frustrated with a device that I have to beg and coax to show me the file system. Android does not suffer from this deficiency. My lone photo glitch was Photos kept crashing when I tried to edit a capture. The fix was easy, I cleared the Photos cache, deleted the app, and reinstalled it from the Play Store. It may seem odd to pay $1k plus for a mobile device when the main event is a camera module with a hard cost of <$30, especially since it won't exactly replace a DSLR. Well, honestly, while the camera is excellent for a phone, it is not even close to Nikon quality. But the rest of the device performs pretty well. The screen is superb, better than any Pixel screen I have had before it. Apps all run smoothly and crash-free. The battery life is only a tad better than average, but the charging speed is excellent; best of any Pixel I have had. The infrared sensor is basically useless, but it is still fun to play with. I use it to see whether my studio mates have used their computers recently :-). There is only one caveat here, and it is important. DO NOT trust the wifi calling function without testing it thoroughly. Not all routers are created equal, and mine is somewhat less than equal. My son waited half an hour for a ride home last night because his calls did not come through. This is a frustrating and potentially dangerous hiccup. I disabled wifi calling, and I suggest you do the same.

Great software, mediocre hardware
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. After testing most of the flagship phones this year, this phone is very mediocre. Google really needs to improve their hardware to keep up with the competition and justify the higher prices. PROS: +The clean, bloat free software experience is awesome. +Pixel exclusive convenience features, AI tricks +The screen is more vibrant and efficient than previous Pixels. Many will appreciate that it's now flat. +The cameras are outstanding, and AI is used to fine tune images. +Great speakers; much improved bass +Matte back resists fingerprints, looks better CONS: -Tensor G3 isn't as powerful or as efficient as the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2, which means worse reception and slower data speeds. -Underwhelming battery life -Uses older UFS 3.1 storage, while others use the faster, more efficient UFS 4.0. -Phone gets warmer than the competition -20:9 aspect ratio means less usable space than the Pixel 7 Pro in many apps. Overall, I can only recommend this phone if it's heavily discounted. The Motorola Edge+ 2023, OnePlus 11, and even the S23 Plus (when on sale) offer much better battery life and reception/data speeds at much lower prices. Pixel 7 Pro owners can skip this generation without missing out on much.

Q: QuestionHow much RAM does the Google 8 Pro 512gb unlocked version come with?
Asked by ED.
- A:Answer Hi ED, The Google Pixel 8 Pro has 12GB of LPDDR5X RAM. This is a significant amount of RAM, and it should be more than enough for even the most demanding tasks. LPDDR5X RAM is also the fastest type of RAM available, so it will help to ensure that your Pixel 8 Pro is always responsive and smooth. With 12GB of RAM, you will be able to run multiple apps at the same time without any slowdown. You will also be able to play the latest games and use demanding apps like video editing software without any problems. I hope this info helps!

Q: QuestionWhen does the Pixel 8 Pro special promotion offer end?
Asked by Margaret.
- A:Answer Hi Margaret, Well according to the Google Store, the Pixel 8 Pro special promotion offer ends on October 16, 2023. That means that you still have a few days left to take advantage of this deal. I hope this info helps and you get yours!

Q: QuestionYou and amazon.de have same model number, but Amazon version is only 8 GB ram. Is Amazon Wrong?
Asked by InterestFour.
- A:Answer Hi there, According to my knowledge, Google has not announced any Pixel 8 Pro models with only 8GB of RAM. It is possible that Amazon has made a mistake, I'm looking in Amazon right now for this exact model but it shows it has 12GB of RAM, so maybe they already corrected the specifications. I hope this info helps!

Q: QuestionWhen you will have it at the store?
Asked by DenisC.
- A:Answer Hi Denis, The devices are available through official Google retail partners in selected regions since October 12, 2023, so it'll depend on where you are. This is also when those who pre-ordered expected deliveries of their Pixels according to current estimations. I hope this info helps!

Q: QuestionWith the Google Pixel 8 Pro pre-order, can we upgrade to the Pixel Watch 2 LTE for an additional charge with this promotion?
Asked by PixelFan.
- A:Answer Hi PixelFan, It is possible, there is a $50 difference for LTE version, However, that is only available on the official Google Store and not Best Buy. I hope this info helps!

Q: QuestionIs there a reduced price for turning in my phone
Asked by Auntiepam.
- A:Answer Check the trade-in page. It should be accessible via the product page but if not it's in the footer. You can see what anything is worth but trade-in. Tip-the amount it gives you can change from day to day. I've checked on stuff for my husband that has come out with a great quote one day, forgot to nail the deal closed and then gone back a few days later to a much lower price or vice versa. That said you can also trade in via your carrier. I'm with Visible, pay $35/month for unlimited - up to 60 GB premium data a month before throttling to standard 5g and they have specials going now where if you finance the phone via affirm at 0% interest, they'll pay off the last 50% of your phones bill once you've paid off the first half. Not a bad deal. I brought mine on the Best Buy credit card-best financing in my opinion and the best card Citi has offered.
