Speed demon
||Posted .Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed.Bought this for my wife as she is technically challenged. The Last time she had a PC it was always SLOW. She is also impatient. She keeps me jumping around because her Ipad does this and that. I gave up and for her BD I bought her the AMD Ryzen desktop with an SSD, WOW! This thing just screams it is so fast. (I wish it was mine) Now I have to break her away from the Ipad because she is still technically challenged and needs to relearn how to use a PC. Once she does that I'll have some peace. Bottom line, it is a great PC and should last a long time.

Works mostly fine
||Posted .Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed.Good computer. Enough graphical power to run doom 2016 and gta 5 at 1080p pretty easily, and has enough processing power to do my office work. Has two monitor ports, although one of them has to support vga or you need an adapter. I immediately upgraded the ram and that was easy. I like that it has so many USB ports on the front, that’s actually somewhat hard to find. One issue from hp in general is that it has a proprietary power supply. I haven’t looked specifically into this model, but you’ll probably need an adaptor to add a video card or anything. Also this website doesn’t list any expansion slots *for* a video card, but when I looked up the model number for the motherboard it does seem to have at least 1 pci express 3 slot, which means you can fit some of them. I do not have enough know how to tell just by looking at the thing. That being said, I figured I would need to replace this cheap computer after saving up more money for a much more powerful pc, but it worked well enough (as someone who isn’t crazy about running everything in 4K at 180 frames a second) that I don’t feel like I need to. I have had issues with some crashing. I can’t say for certain this is my model as I bought it used. I definitely had to reinstall steam because of how much it was hanging. Hasn’t been bad since but I definitely got a few blue screens of death, especially in the first week or so. Also the hard drive is very small, but an external hard drive is like 50 bucks so that’s not a huge problem even if you don’t want to open everything

CD Door appearance but no CD-ROM drive
||Posted .Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This looks as if it has a CD- ROM drive. It does not have a CD-ROM drive. That's not extremely important to me so I did not return it, but the amount of time I invested to go through command and make sure I didn't overlook it because it appears to have a door slot is why I give it 4 stars. It definitely did not mention the CD-ROM drive in any instruction manual or online. Read product descriptions carefully.

HP Desktop
||Posted .Owned for 1 month when reviewed.Looking to upgrade my web browsing computer I purchased this unit and was greatly impressed by the speed the SSD gave over my old computer with its HDD. A much faster and smoother internet experience it provides me. The main drawback to me is that this does not come with a DVD/Bluray drive installed nor does it have an internal bay to install one. You have to have an external disk drive to watch dvd or bluray movies or to install software from disks on this computer. Overall though I would recommend this computer since the increased performance of the SSD is worth the trouble of buying an external disk drive.

Geek contacts
||Posted .Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. The Geek folks did a good job of transferring files from my old computer to the new one. The overall service while making the purchase was excellent. However I found that using the internet to communicate with Geek service was frustrating. Whoever runs that operation may know digital technology but they are short of communication with people skills.

Ryzen 3/8 GB RAM/256 GB SSD; plenty for most users
||Posted .Owned for 2 months when reviewed. This HP desktop with AMD Ryzen 3, 8GB RAM, and 256 GB SSD is plenty powerful for most average users like myself who mostly do web browsing, reading email, light word processing (letters, etc.), and Zoom-type meetings. Setup was easy, speed and bootup fast, and enough storage unless you store LOTS of movies and/or music (and that's what the Cloud and external storage devices are for).

Cheap but Mightyish
||Posted .Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed.Cheap but works as a daily driver for email, web surfing, etc. Isn't going to be a high end gaming machine - but that is o.k., it is significantly faster than my 4 year old gaming laptop... so, that works for me!

Q: QuestionDose this pc run games good?
Asked by Anonymous.
- A:Answer I purchased this very computer a few months back. In its stock configuration, with the one 8 GB stick of RAM, you will not have wonderful results with most gaming as the windows 10 operating system plus the integrated graphics will use pretty much all 8 GB just to run. That being said, I did add a Corsair Vengeance LPX 16 GB kit(8x2) DDR4 3200. The computer only recognizes that ram at 2133 unfortunately. HP has their bios locked down so there is little to no end user configuration options. I cannot change the XMP settings to make the computer run the at the advertised 3200 MHz. But 16 GB at 2133 in dual channel is significantly faster than one 8 GB 3200 MHz stick. I also added a Samsung Evo 870 1 TB SSD(this computer came with the sata cable already attached to the motherboard). As for gaming, it is capable as long as you meter your expectations. I play call of duty modern warfare/war zone all the time, but to do so requires the game being set to 1920 x 1080, And the render resolution set pretty much to 720 resolution. All the other graphical settings are at their lowest. But it’s somewhere in the 50 to 70 FPS range depending on the map. I consider that more than playable, others may not. I also play doom eternal, low or medium settings is no problem at 720 resolution, 900 resolution, or 1080 if you have dynamic render resolution mode on. The game looks great regardless and is in the 45 to 65 FPS range with those settings. I tried the newer flight simulator 2020, but couldn’t get more than roughly 30 frames per second with everything at its lowest graphically. Even at its lowest settings, that game looks great, but I would rather have better performance playing flight simulator x maxed out. Ive only played Halo: combat evolved from the master chief collection so far on this computer, but it ran great. If you play esports games like CSGO, you won’t have any problems running at 1080. Again, if you play older games, like the last five years, emulators, and you meter your expectations a little bit, you will have pretty good results. It also does have a PCI express 16 slot if you wish to add a video card down the road, but you will be limited to lower powered cards like a gtx 1650 that uses the boards power, not from an additional six pin, or something like 1050ti. I wouldn’t use a 1030, as it’s just about as fast as the integrated graphics on this ryzen chip already. Also, you are limited in your selection because the power supply is only 180 W. Wow that is capable of running this computer perfectly stable, and it is a good quality factory power supply, it doesn’t have much had room for upgrades that require additional external power. And the power supply wiring doesn’t give you the necessary plugs whether it be six or eight pin for higher powered graphics cards(unless you are willing to use a molex to 6/8pin adapter). I hope this helped.

Q: QuestionDoes this offer expandable storage, and if so, how many drives are able to be installed?
Asked by Ryan.
- A:Answer Hi Ryan. Thanks for your question. The SSD drive is installed in the only PCIe® NVMe™ M.2 slot. There is an expansion cage for a 3.5" drive and there is a SATA cable already installed. You can install a second drive in the 3.5" space.

Q: QuestionI recently put 16gb sticks of TridentZ RGB ram and my memory still says 7 gb of ram that is usable. Could i get some help with this
Asked by jayden.
- A:Answer I only tried to update RAM on one computer once but I'll try to answer you. When you get RAM memory there are different types like DDR3, DDR4, and etc you have to make sure you are getting the correct RAM type that is compatible with the hard drive. Also, the computer itself will have different available RAM slots some computers have 3 slots for RAM cards, others 2 or 4, you can find this information in the BIOS of the computer which is where you also need to update your RAM. For this computer, you have 2 memory slots and you need DDR4 RAM 3200 SD RAM memory and you can have 32GB MAX memory. So in this case you can install 2 memory cards with 16 GB RAM each but you need to make sure it's DDR4 RAM with 3200 SD RAM memory. Also, you need to update the BIOS, so your computer can understand there is more RAM. If you try to update the BIOS and your computer still says you can only use 7GB then it's possible you have the wrong type of RAM. Hope this answer helps you. I have been there.

Q: QuestionWould it be possible for me to add a gpu to this pc? And if so, which ones would be compatible/fit with the motherboard?
Asked by Ih1103200.
- A:Answer Thanks for your question. This Desktop only has a 180W power supply. It would possibly support a GTX 1030 GPU. This Desktop PC has the L81008-800 - 180W power supply installed. This chassis can also use the L64961-800 - 310W power supply, and the connectors should be the same. I hope this helps you. That would allow you to use a GTX 1050 GPU.
