I only tried to update RAM on one computer once but I'll try to answer you. When you get RAM memory there are different types like DDR3, DDR4, and etc you have to make sure you are getting the correct RAM type that is compatible with the hard drive. Also, the computer itself will have different available RAM slots some computers have 3 slots for RAM cards, others 2 or 4, you can find this information in the BIOS of the computer which is where you also need to update your RAM. For this computer, you have 2 memory slots and you need DDR4 RAM 3200 SD RAM memory and you can have 32GB MAX memory. So in this case you can install 2 memory cards with 16 GB RAM each but you need to make sure it's DDR4 RAM with 3200 SD RAM memory. Also, you need to update the BIOS, so your computer can understand there is more RAM. If you try to update the BIOS and your computer still says you can only use 7GB then it's possible you have the wrong type of RAM. Hope this answer helps you. I have been there.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.
