When I first bought the Insignia Switch Go Case, I actually considered returning it the moment I got it home. The more I looked at it, and my new switch, the more I was worried that the case would be too small, and put pressure on my beautiful new console. However, I decided to be fair and give it a 1-day trial. Turns out I was wrong, and glad of it. The Switch Go Case gives me exactly what I need, and (almost) nothing extraneous. It provides ample, yet snug space for my switch, with plenty of clearance for the screen. There is a flap that serves to protect the screen, secure the console in place, and provides storage for up to 10 games. The only down side is that there's an accessories pouch in the top that I honestly don't ever see using. About the only accessory I own that would fit easily in there is the strap attachment, and I don't honestly bring those with me very often. It feels like it was just added to fill space in the case, and I don't really see myself using it much. While this isn't the case for those who wish to take the entire system, dock, accessories, and all with them to tournaments or friends' houses, this is the perfect commuter case for those of us who enjoy getting in a few minutes searching out Shrines, or collecting Stars on our lunch break, or getting in a few games of Mario Kart on the train. Overall, if you want something that slips easily into your bag, holds your Switch securely, and doesn't break the bank, the Switch Go Case from Insignia is exactly what you need.

Great case, affordable price, but not crush-proof

I considered buying the Nintendo-branded case, but it was twice the price of this one. I love this case, it has a lot of storage on the inside. While some might complain about the difficulty in removing the switch from the case because of the elastic bands that hold it in place, I find it very nice because it keeps the unit very secure inside the case, so you if you drop it, the Switch isn't just rattling around inside. And it's not hard to remove, all you have to do is pull the elastic bands back behind the switch to remove it. You won't break/snap the elastic, it was purposely used so that you could pull/stretch it behind the Switch for easy removal. The only reason I docked a star from my review is because the case is durable, semi-hard shell, but it's not crush-proof. You put more than 10-15 lbs of weight on top of this case, it will push the inside of the shell down onto the analog sticks, but probably won't break anything at this weight. Anything over 40-50 lbs I would imagine is getting to the point of possibly damaging the switch (or the analog sticks at the very least), even if it is inside this case.

I really like this case, it does a great job of protecting the switch and keeping it turned off in my bag. There are only two things that keep me from giving it the 5-star rating. 1) I realize it is a travel case, but if it was just a little bit thicker it would be able to accommodate another set of joy-con controllers in the top pocket which would come in handy. So if I want to travel with two sets of joy-cons I end up having to either leave one set outside of the case, which they end up turning on every time something shifts and a button gets pressed, or I leave both sets of joy-cons in the case and leave the switch out of the case. 2) The elastic straps end up more a pain then they are worth with the console. You have to lift the straps to get them over the analog sticks every time you take the switch out of the case. I would rather just have the switch sit in that side without being retained.

I've been a fan of the Insignia brand for a long time, and I will say this- the case does its job. Now can you get a better case that holds more games with a more custom shell, for LESS money? Absolutely. However, the straps and overall durability of the case makes it great for anyone on the go a lot. The reason why I'm not giving it 5 stars is because I find that when taking the system out, the straps get stuck on the joysticks and it can be a little annoying if you want to take it out quickly, or without having to actually stop and remove the straps from around the sticks. Lastly and unfortunately, there's also no kickstand feature with this case like some others around this price point, but you are getting the reliability that is worth the Insignia name :)

      Bogus piece of garbage.

Contrary to what other reviews are saying, this product is NOT able to hold the Switch. It's too small to hold the Switch with the Joy-Cons attached, which is what it's supposed to do because the straps wouldn't hold the Switch properly otherwise, and if I did somehow manage to get it in there, it would be near impossible to get it back out again without damaging the Switch. It's like the manufacturer looked at the Switch's dimensions and said "Just add another millimeter onto that." In addition, when attempting to fit the Switch in there, the straps used to hold it in place left a mark on the screen that I was fortunately able to remove after a bit of effort. Very disappointed and I WILL be returning this worthless piece of junk and getting something better. I'd give it 0 stars if it were possible.

I travel for business and this is perfect. I have two games, MK 8 and Zelda, and both of these fit snuggly into this case that can hold either the SD card or the format you buy from the store, up to 16 I think which is for me more than enough. For storage it’s perfect because it’s about the size of the switch and very padded, which means no screen or device damage which is the primary concern. The elastic bands which hold both sides of the product near the L and R joy cons in place is a tad annoying but honestly it’s a safety measure so very worth it. I’d say for both hard copies of your game and microSDs plus a solid solution for holding your device and a small space for accessories this is it...it’s a cheap accessory for an awesome device.

This case is probably not the most protective case there is. I mean if I were to drop the Switch in this case, I would still be worried about its safety. However, that is why if you need a truly protective carrying case, you should look into other options. Because if you just want a convenient way to carry your Switch along with a couple small accessories, or just a better way of storing it in your backpack, then this is your best option! My favorite part is that the top pouch is just big enough to fit a variety of tabletop stands for the Switch, which is very nice to have when playing on the go!

This probably isn't the best case on the market but for the price, it likely is all you need. I toyed with the idea of getting one of the official Nintendo brand cases with a game print on it but for $10 less or even half the price of some of them, this one has anything you'd need. Secure holding for the system with Joycons attached, pockets for plenty of games (the free game cartridge case I got when I purchased the system hasn't been used yet), and another pocket for whatever else you might want to carry. The only thing I wish it had was a bit more room for the adapter. Or maybe I just need a smaller adapter...
