This design is much more comfortable than other styles. It is also more fashionable and can be worn with any dress style.

I love this fitness tracker because it is small and unassuming, and it is quite accurate. I wear it on the waist band of my pants every day and on the collar of my shirt every night. I paid $19.99 on Best Buy on-line during a sale, and it is by far the best deal if you are looking to keep track of steps taken, mileage walked, and to keep a log of your sleeping patterns. I had a Fitbit wrist tracker in the past, but it was poor quality, and the charger stopped working after only a month. I returned it and waited about a year before I decided to try the Jawbone UpMove, on the recommendation of a coworker. It keeps track of how many minutes it takes me to fall asleep, how many hours and minutes I slept, and how much of that time was restful vs. light sleep. It also tracks my steps and miles walked and run, but I did notice that when I run, the mileage is a little low compared to what I actually ran. You can also track your eating/diet with this product, but I have yet to utilize that function. I am very happy with this product so far, and for $20, you can't go wrong. I prefer this type of wearable technology to the wrist band I used to have, as it was somewhat bulky and annoying when I slept. I forget the UpMove is even there; I just have to be vigilant that I don't put it in the wash!

Good entry-level activity tracker

This is an entry-level activity tracker, but what's great about it is that it allows you to use the same Jawbone app that other higher-end Jawbone devices use. You do give up a few features, but the basic things (steps, sleep, exercise time, calories) are all here, and for most people, that's enough.
It is a lot better than a basic pedometer. It counts steps obviously, but on your phone, it also graphs it for you so you can see throughout the day when you are most active, and that might motivate you to do more.
One advantage that it offers is that it doesn't need to be attached to your wrist, so for cycling exercise (indoors or outdoors), you can keep it in your pocket and it will track the spins for you. With a wrist band, you cannot know how many spins you've made because usually the wrist is stationary.
The battery lasts a long time (it says 6 months). I've had it for about 2 months, and it is still going strong.
So unless you want more advanced things like heart rate, GPS and message notifications, this is a very good and low-cost way to start tracking your activities.

Dedicated Tracker

I had burned through 4 Fitbit Flex before I gave up on them. Then I saw this tracker on sale and it was worth the $20 opportunity cost. It runs off a replaceable Lithium battery which means the charge is good for 4-6 months then a quick batter swap gets it back up and running. The hardware interface is quite easy to use, a quick press shows the current tracked state (activity or sleep), a double press shows the current time and a long press toggles between sleep and activity. There are different colored and shaped lights which indicate which mode it is currently operating in which makes for convenient identification. My biggest complain is that I have lost the unit 3 times already when it shot off my belt due to an arm brush or getting something out of my pocket. So far I have been able to find it each time but it is annoying when it happens. The android app is pretty clean thought I wish there was a way I could review the result on the web. The app has a feature called smart coach which attempts to motivate you to continually do better but increasing your activity, sleep and better caloric intake. This is great most of the time but it would be nice to have an "i'm injured" feature to explain why activity plummets to minimal.
So in summary well-featured and easy to use for a great price tag. If you are considering getting into personal tracking and do not want to face the $200-$300 expenditure of other tracker this is a great alternative.

Great tracker and easy to use

For the price, this is a great tracker. It tracks your steps and sleep and workouts. It can even tell the time in a unique way. Syncs flawlessly by Bluetooth to my iPhone. And the free smartphone app gives lots of info, encouragement and it's easy to use. You can set up teams so you can compare to family and friends.
There are a few small cons. One is the battery life. They say it's 6+ months but it's more like 3-4 months. Another is the accessories. They are pricey and not very well made. The band, which they say is essential for sleep tracking, is sold separately and is easily stretched out.

I bought this about a month ago and I absolutely love it! It tracks your sleep, steps, and activity. the tricky part for me is remembering to click the device to let it know im starting a working or sleep mode.
The app's golden feature of this product (although it IS available for free in the App Store for both iOS and Android). The app allows you to track your food consumption and calculates calories for you as well as calories burned from your workout. It lets you interact with others on the app and challenge them. I like that the app is more friendly than competitive (you can cheer your friends on!). I use the app a lot :)
The actual device is versatile and can be attached to practically ANYTHING. I've never had it slip or even budge. The way it's designed allows for it to cling to anything. I also had it clipped to my sports bra during a workout and later went swimming to cool off and forgot I had it on. The device is waterproof although I don't think it's designed for water/swimming (not sure?) but it worked with me! I've taken it swimming a few times after that. This being said, sweat/rain/snow, etc. won't affect the function of the device. Awesome!
I haven't had to replace the battery as of yet but from what I've read it lasts long.
I don't use any accessories with it personally. I like that it's discreet as a clip-on and don't like wearing anything on my wrists so I retuned the wrist bands I had purchased with this. That's a personal preference though.
Bought a second device for my mom!

Simple and affordable tracker to get moving

Tracker: One of the cheapest trackers in the market. No heavy on technology but still gets its word through the user. Get moving with only $50. No fancy lights (this one actually has a few to show time). No extra heart rate information. Just plain and simple step count with classic pinnable design.
App: The best fitness app you can get out there. Works on almost all smart phones. The coach feature is really a great motivator. Take challenges and get rewards for completing them.
Battery: put once and forget about 4-6 months depending on usage.
Cons: Needs separate band to purchase for sleep tracking. At times it's difficult to put tracker in the mount, gets better with practice.

Some Good, but with Serious Flaws

The Good: It's small and inexpensive. It does a good job tracking steps, and syncs easily and wirelessly with the UP app. It takes an easy-to-find watch battery, so it does not need to be charged.
The Bad: It's not so good if you want to track sleep also. A wrist band is an extra $15, and it's a nuisance to get the thing in and out of it's clip. The UP app itself, is poorly designed and coded. It crashes frequently, sometimes crashing the phone itself (something I've seen no other app do.) And if you are tracking sleep, the app adds more sleep every time it syncs. On one day, it eventually said I had slept for over 23 hours between 11 and 6:30. This happened almost every day. BTW these app problems apply to any of the Jawbone trackers.
And the Worst: The clip does not hold tightly to your clothing, causing the device to fall off while you are using it. Mine lasted about a week before falling off someplace where it could not be found.
I replaced it with a different product, one that does not have the serious disadvantages as this one.
A:If you don't use a phone or tablet, the only thing you'll see on the Up is the approximate amount of steps you take or the hours of sleep. But if you attain the goal of 10,000 steps or 8 hours of sleep, it goes round and round.
A:I have yet to find a web-based app so far which seems silly in 2015. As for data retention I have gone two days on my and it syced perfectly. According to the FAQ on jawbone's site it is supposed to contain 2 weeks worth of data.
