Q: How long does it take for first charge
A: There is no need to charge the CLIP 2 off the box. Our units that has a battery comes with a factory charge that allows you to use it as soon as you unbox it. Once the battery is drained, it will take 2 hours at 0.5 Ampere for a full recharge.
Q: How do I know the speaker is fully charge?
A: When you plug it in, the red light will turn on (the power button). When the red light turns off, it's charged.
Q: Can I plug into apple ipod?
A: Yes it can it has an auxiliary cord attached to it on its base to hook up to any device with a 3.5mm headphone jack.
A: No, this is because the Clip 2 does not support JBL Connect+, while the Flip 4 can only connect to speakers that have Connect+.
Q: Can I overcharge a JBL Clip 2? Or is it ok to keep the charging cord connected overnight?
A: An average Lithium-ion battery would survive around 500~1,500 charging cycles. Now, according to techs out there who've tested it, it is not ideal to use it from 100-0 in one go, this would degrade the battery's life span badly. There is no harm in keeping the speaker plugged in, what is harmful, is heat. Keeping it plugged in while using it might cause the battery to heat up to such degree that it would also degrade your battery. With these things in mind, what we can advise is - it is okay to leave it plugged in, the charger and the batteries right now are smarter than we think, there is no such thing now as "overcharging". But since heat is something we would like to avoid, unplug it when you use it and charge the speaker a little every time you have a chance to. Lithium-ions takes charge better when done on small frequent charges than going from 0-100. And last note, NEVER flat your battery out.
Q: Is it loud enough to hear on a motorcycle????
A: Unfortunately no, the Clip cannot be heard enough if you are mobile on your motorcycle.
A: Using an aux cord will automatically switch the usage of Bluetooth power to receiving the signal via aux instead. This should help save battery life. The main differences between the Clip 2 and Clip 3 are the longer battery life of the Clip 3 and that the Clip 3 does not have a built in aux cord. You would need to connect a separate aux cord to the Clip 3 if you wish to hook it up with a wired connection.
