Amazing Baby Monitor
|Posted .I've tried cloud cams and a purpose-built baby cam with its own handheld device, and the Nanit Plus Baby Monitor blows both out of the water in *ALMOST* every way. What's to like: +Amazing picture quality. You can see every detail of your baby in both day and night conditions. Like many newborns, our baby tends to fuss when she spits out her pacifier. With our other standalone baby monitor, the picture was too grainy to see if she had her pacifier. With the Nanit, you can clearly see if the baby has her pacifier or not. +Excellent App and set-up with iOS. We are iPhone users and the app was seamless to set-up and share parenting roles by just inviting via email. There was one minor annoyance in the app that required you to input a due date, even though our daughter was already born. +Wonderful build quality. The cabling is that soft rubber sleeving and overall the device feels like it could be made by Apple, Samsung, or any other high-end tech/lifestyle company. The camera clicks into the wall base and there is cable covering included to protect the cable from coming loose. +Awesome performance even away from home. I can legitimately view what is going on live in my baby's crib even when I am work with little performance quality issues. No set-up is needed, Nanit handles all of the networking from your home over the internet to your mobile device. +Ability to keep background sound on, even while the app is not up and focused. This is important for night monitoring, you just hit the sound button on the app until the background sound is toggled and you will hear room noise even while the app is not in focus or the phone is locked. +Easy to open the app while locked, just bring up lock screen which shows the Nanit icon and then tap it and the app opens up. What can be improved upon: -The "notifications" are just the phone notifications with a message bar and a ping chime, as any other notification on your phone would be. It would be nice if Nanit could somehow customize their notification to have a different chime, to chime even when the phone is in silent mode, and to maybe flash the flashlight or screen and TURN THE SCREEN ON, when the baby makes a loud noise or a lot of sustained movement. This is the one area my standalone baby monitor is better, it has a LED green or orange bar and makes a loud chime when the baby triggers. -You can leave the screen on during the night, make sure your phone is plugged in to allow the app to stay open so you can see your baby, but this can be a problem for OLED phones and burn-in. -The Nanit Insight is an awesome sleep metrics tracker, but its behind a subscription. While the subscription is a reasonable $50 a year, it would be nice if this was included for free with such an expensive device that is really just a solid cloud cam and excellent software that runs on YOUR expensive and powerful phone as the monitor device. -Does require relatively modern/powerful hardware. Our iPad Mini would not run the Nanit app adequately. Very slow start-up and laggy/grainy picture. -Alexa integration is nominal. Just a few chat voice tricks but no native app or ability to view your baby on an Echo Show or Spot like you can with Amazon Web Cams. Overall this is an excellent Baby monitor, possibly the best one, and it will only continue to get better. Lets hope they integrate some of these suggestions in the app instead of a new generation of hardware, because it is possible to do so without charging the customer for an upgrade.

Smarter Baby Monitor
|Posted .I love that I can check on my baby from anywhere. My old wireless monitor would often lose connection when working in the garage or sitting on my patio, this is not any issue with Nanit. The camera is clear, has good audio and a remotely controlled night light. The hardware is well built and the included cord management is a great feature. I do wish that the portable stand was included (a table stand and pole type stand can be purchased separately if the wall mount doesn’t work for you or you want more options). Where this camera really shines is the application. I love the sleep tracking and I use the event recording / time lapse way more often than I thought I would. The ability to keep the audio open when using other applications is awesome. There are a few things that need a little work. I wish the movement and noise notifications were more persistent and sometimes just going into the nursery gets recorded as a event. A one year trial of sleep tracking and event viewing was provided for free, but you should consider the cost if those features are your main reason for purchasing this monitor. I could have recommended this monitor based on the camera quality alone, but the smart features really work.

Trustworthy
|Posted .This is a great baby monitor! it has so many great features that I think it's worth looking into. The monitor is easy to set up, even for someone who's not very technologically savvy. From the unboxing to being full set up, it took less than 10 minutes! The monitor gives a birdeye view of the baby instead of more of a "room view". It has great night vision quality. I felt that the day picture was decent. I love that it also monitors the temperature and humidity of the room. You can hear your baby as well as speak to him/her. I wish it had a feature to notify you if the baby was removed or got out of crib . Also be aware that since your are utilizing your phone it can drain your battery quickly. Overall though, great baby monitor that I highly recommend!

Great monitor highly recommend
Posted .I love my nanit! It’s awesome to have access from your phone, which is always on me anyway. I don’t have to think about carrying around a separate monitor to keep an eye out. The picture quality is so clear and the notifications about noises/motion is game changing. When my baby starts to stir i get alerted so it’s not too late that she’s already crying to be changed or fed. I highly recommend! It’s also really convenient I can share control of the app with my husband so both of us have access to the picture. I plan to buy the stand so I can have the camera be used when we travel.

Insightful monitor
Posted .We are using this monitor for our second child, currently 10 months old. We have had basic video monitors, plain sound monitors, and "fancier" video monitors, none of which hooked up to our cell phones in the past. I love that it alerts me on my phone and apple watch when there is sound or motion detected in the crib. I will say it is a bit overly sensitive to these things at times. I like being able to see her and see if there are barriers to her putting herself back to sleep. I also really like the summary videos and advice that it gives me weekly about how to help her sleep better. Con - it is an expensive monitor and the insight summary/teachings cost a monthly fee after a free month trial. Our previous monitor had 2 cameras and one receiver so we could see both girls' rooms. We didn't want to pay another big fee to buy another camera so now we have 2 different monitor systems. Overall, I have been very impressed with the picture quality, ease of use, and reliability of the monitor.

Future your Baby Monitoring, with Nanit!
|Posted .The Nanit Plus Baby Monitor is the newest smart home technology you will want to get your hands on. Some baby monitors on the market offer technology, but, they are not the "smartest" out there; Nanit is here to change your mind. Unboxing and installing: The Nanit comes with the camera, stand/wall mount, a long power cable with cable concealing included (plastic concealers that stick to the wall and hide the 10' + cord), and mounting hardware. Everything was easy to put together, including the plastic concealing (it includes a sticky backside to stick to the wall). However, the mounting screws are made cheap. I appreciate Nanit including a drilling template, but what good is that if the screws are not strong enough to hold the camera up in drywall? I wound up buying anchors and better screws from the hardware store. After my failed attempt to mount the camera the first time, I patched and placed the camera on the wall, above our crib (baby crying and all). This system is designed to give you a "birds-eye" view of your baby sleeping; this is the only way to use the system, and it's functions (such as the sleep analysis functions). Keep in mind that, you cannot rotate the orientation of the camera. The camera is essentially positioned one way after you installed it (more of a 90-degree angle above the crib). Smart Features: First, you will need to sign up for an account and install the Nanit App. Nanit offers a 30-day trial period, which includes sleep monitoring (heat signatures to tell you the temperature of the room, and baby), as well as information such as "how long your baby slept today" etc. Also, there is two-way communication between you and your baby. So now you can hear the baby snore slightly and talk sweet nothings to it. Also, the sound and picture quality is great (especially at night with the night vision on). One function I appreciated was the "nature sounds" playlist when my baby was fussy. Simply open up the app on your phone and select the "sound" you want the baby to fall asleep to. More so, the app tracks the number of times you visited your baby during the night too. Additionally, the sleep movement technology learned my baby's sleep habits and let me know if anything unusual was happening. The technology is exceptional since there were obvious times the baby could not sleep and I attended to his needs. However, there were times that I did not know our baby woke up, even for a few minutes, because they were uncomfortable. This happened during a couple of nights that our baby was not fussy; the baby woke up and eventually fell back asleep. I later looked at the history in the app, watched the video that was recorded, and determined that the baby was uncomfortable sleeping, due to the outfit he was wearing. Again, on those nights that I did not know he woke up, I watched the history and figured it out on my own. After each night, the app displays your child's sleep statistics (a scoring system that lets you know how long they slept, and how "inefficiently" they slept). Also, in the App, you can add your partners so that they can log in and view activity, too. Once our trial runs out, I plan on picking up their insights subscription. Again, if you are concerned about your baby's sleep analysis, expert tips, and time-lapse playback (like most smart home cameras). , this is something you should consider. Overall, the Nanit Plus baby monitor is a smart choice, and one of the better baby monitors out there. Be mindful of the hardware installation, as well as the lack of stand (if you want this version, you will have to purchase it; Nanit does not offer a floor stand separately).

Well worth the money.
||Posted .Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed. This camera has by far been the Best baby camera we have bought! We purchased several cameras before but I never fully felt confident in any of them as I do with Nanit. Some would lose connection, some had horrible night vision and others I wasn’t quite sure if it was truly safe. As first time parents we of course worried and continue to worry about everything and we wanted peace of mind knowing our little one was safe at night. This camera will tell you the temperature and humidity of your baby’s room and will alert you if either one of those go out of range. It will also alert you if there is movement and sound in the crib. The insight membership truly is worth it because you can track your baby’s sleep progression. It breaks everything down in videos and you can make notes and add family members to the live feed. Also, did I mention you can watch your baby sleep from anywhere! So when I work late, I still can’t see my son sleeping. Nanit also has a very tightknit security system which was one of the main reasons why we decided to go with Nanit. Our baby’s security was our main priority. So if you are questioning whether you should get this product or not. Do yourself a favor and stop stressing and reading and endless reviews (because, I did the same thing) just buy the camera. It is so worth it!

High quality baby monitor and sleep tracker
|Posted .The Nanit Plus baby monitor features many useful options to help monitor and track the quality of your baby’s sleep and might recommend the monthly subscription although it's not necessary. The Nanit Plus was easy and relatively fast to set up; should only take the average person about 10-15 minutes. It comes with a long USB cord to supply it power and plugs into an included wall AC adapter. You will need to download the Nanit app and create a Nanit account with user name and password in order to complete set up. The app will take you through the steps to finish the installation of your Nanit camera to your WiFi network. The on-screen color coded boxes and shapes help position the camera near the crib correctly. Once it's set up, the Nanit app will send a notification to your phone when it hears noise. It will also record video of movement and send it to their cloud for viewing. Depending on your network and phone, there might be a longer delay from having to open the app and wait for the camera feed to load, like any wifi camera device. The Nanit has a beautiful picture, probably the best I have seen from a baby monitor however that may be due to the phone you are using as well. It also has a temperature and humidity display. One of the main things that will set this device apart from other baby monitors is that it also does a great job of tracking your baby's sleep if you opt for the monthly subscription...think a high end step tracker but for your baby's sleep. The Nanit will track your baby’s sleep habits for you, and it does a good job recording most things. If you put your baby into the crib before the baby is asleep, the app will track how long it took before the baby falls asleep and will track how long the baby slept. To go even further, it will track how many times a parent went in to check on the baby as long as they're in the camera’s view. But wait, there's more! The Nanit app will show you a heat map of where your baby slept each night. After compiling all the data that the camera and app can track it will give you a rating on how well your baby is sleeping... I believe this is a much better option that some of the competition that uses other devices, such as a sock or pad, to track your baby's movement as it is not as invasive. I was really impressed by the amount of features the Nanit has. Although the price may seem much higher than other baby monitors that don't do a fraction of what this one is capable of doing, I would consider it an investment on the most important thing in your life, your own children. I would recommend opting for the month subscription to unlock all of it's potential and understand that you'll probably only use it for the first year or so until they are old enough not to worry about monitoring everything.

Q: QuestionWill this run on the background of your phone? Will it give you sound alerts even if the app isn’t running for instants at night? As in if the screen is locked, will this still run?
Asked by Rachel.
- A:Answer It will run in the background and will give you sound alerts even if app isn't running.

Q: QuestionHi, Can this be used in Europe? ie voltage of 220? Thanks
Asked by Anonymous.
- A:Answer The camera plug is a standard USB A with a USB power adapter. You should be able to use a different USB power adapter / charger designed to be used in the country you are traveling to. It just needs an output similar to the original (5v with a current rating of at least 2000mA).
Answered by MGoose
Q: QuestionCan you travel with this? Or once mounted you are unable to travel with the camera?
Asked by Anonymous.
- A:Answer The Nanit camera can easily be detached from the Wall Mount and used with the Nanit Multi-Stand for travel.

Q: QuestionIs this compatible with Alexa show? My husband wants a separate monitor so he doesn't have to use his phone constantly to see our daughter
Asked by Alexa.
- A:Answer Yes, The Nanit Camera is compatible with iOS, Android, Kindle Fire, and Echo Show devices.
Answered by Nanit Product Expert
Q: QuestionDoes this record when it alerts you of movement or sound?
Asked by Anonymous.
- A:Answer Yes, it records movements and sounds. You will be able to see the video in your motion notifications.
Answered by Nanit Product Expert
Q: QuestionWhat is the range of this device.
Asked by William.
- A:Answer The range depends on your Wi-Fi network strength. It doesn't use radio frequencies like other monitors. I believe Bluetooth is the backup if Wi-Fi is down.
