“I want to upgrade RAM and change HDD to a SSD. My previous laptops had dedicated panel access openings for RAM and the HDD, but since this machine doesn’t have those access openings...can it easily be done by removing entire bottom panel?”

HDD to SSD is no problem and easy to change, but you will need to get a copy cable, USB to SSD then swap it with the HDD. Memory a bit more difficult usually. You can check where it is and how accessible it is to do so by looking at a diagram of the inner works.
