Q: QuestionI purchased a 5 year protection plan for my Hisense TV. I went to register the plan on the Geek Squad website but it asks for GCID which I don't have on my receipt. How do I register my plan or find my GCID?

• A:Answer Go back to Best Buy and get the information. I personally keep all boxes for appliances for up to a year to make sure I have the information on the box and the box to take the appliance back to the store.

Q: QuestionHello,Lastweek of May my modem gave out.I tried contacting geek squad&wasn’t getting anywhere.I got sick&tested positive for the virus so i wasn’t able to take my modem in before June 15th expiration date.Since i had to be quarantine.Please help!

• A:Answer I contacted my Best Buy i bought my modem at. And they just offered me $30 off another modem. Like what? I paid for insurance and due to the circumstances i couldn’t get my modem replaced because of that.

• A:Answer Thanks for your question, Langley! The Geek Squad Protection plan is separate from installation and/or mounting services. The plan will still cover the TV if it is mounted but the mounting service itself is a separate charge.

Q: QuestionI bought a 55” Samsung tv in October n three weeks ago it will not turn on, I purchased a 2 year ext warranty. Geek squad can out and said they couldn’t repair it because it was outside under a patio. I purchased a cover for it which has been on it since.

• A:Answer If you did not purchase a tv that was meant to be outside it voids your warranty keeping it outside. Regular TVs are not meant to be kept outside and will end up damaged in the long run whether you cover it or not. Humidity finds its way in regardless.
