• yes ice holds does not melt . i use mine at work so when i come back on mondays to work there is ice still in machine.

• Yeah it stores the frozen ice in a basket area and if it’s not used it melts and filters down to the water source to make more ice. This is one of the coolest things I’ve ever bought. Now I want a bigger one for my home and camping needs. Totally useful.
