Hi Brandon - ice size adjusts the amount of time the unit trickles water over the evaporator fingers. The other factor that determines ice size is water temperature. If the water is warmer the ice will be smaller, i.e. you can make smaller ice cubes by using warmer water and the shorter time cycle (small ice cube setting).
