- Answer A gallon of water weighs 8 pounds. There are 128 ounces in a gallon. 16 ounces equals 1 pound. All this considered, it will take 3.25 gallons of water to make 26 pounds of ice. Or 416 ounces of water.

QuestionThis says it has an ice storage capacity of 2.65 lbs. How long does the ice stay frozen for after being made if I leave it in the machine? Does it immediately start to melt, or will it be ok for awhile before I have time to use it or put it in the freezer

- Answer The machine continually makes ice, it does not have the ability to keep it cold for long periods. It just melts & the ice maker makes more as long as there is water in the reservoir. I put mine in the ice storage bin of my upright freezer. It’s makes great crushed ice or works fine for cubes as well. Just shake off any excess water before dumping it in.

- Answer Hi Tommy - The unit produces 9 ice bullet shaped ice cubes approximately every 10 minutes. You can make the ice cubes larger by starting with colder water. Tip: remove the ice storage basket and allow the first couple of batches of ice to fall into the water reservoir. That will help chill the water so that the ice cubes produced with be larger and firmer.

QuestionMy ice maker is only making large ice. I unplugged it let it sit, then turned it back on put it on small. The green ligh lights up next to the small. , but it still puts out large ice bullets.

- Answer The difference between the two sizes mine has is almost negligible, However if you with between batches, and compare the sizes there is what I refer to as a minor noticeable difference. The only advantage, that I perceive, is the smaller sizes will cycle faster, if you have people waiting for ice.

- Answer Hi Brandon - ice size adjusts the amount of time the unit trickles water over the evaporator fingers. The other factor that determines ice size is water temperature. If the water is warmer the ice will be smaller, i.e. you can make smaller ice cubes by using warmer water and the shorter time cycle (small ice cube setting).

- Answer It has a full sensor and will turn red light in when the tray is full, will stop making new ice and as the old ice sits and melts will turn back on and make more ice when sensor is clear again.
