Specs say speakers are upward-facing ("firing"=war & gun term, so I refuse to use it). Seems incorrect. I see no speaker grills on top of machine, do on bottom, sound seems to come from bottom. Sound is awful w/out headphones. Explanation? null

Bottom speakers are a likely no-go for me. Just totally muffled, so earbuds or headphone required to listen to even news. I'd gladly sacrifice 1/2 in. of keyboard area space (which is deeper than the norm) to have top speakers.
