This item plugs into the hdmi of your tv. It runs off either wi-fi OR the Internet service on your device. If you have screen mirroring on your FIRE, it should work with any device that has an hdmi plug.

The device comes with an AC device so you plug that up as well - either directly into your TV, if your TV has a USB port. And into the "wall socket" via the adapter that also comes included. You then place your device in discovery mode/Bluetooth mode in order to connect to the device. Note; i use this method for my Surface 3 device and I haven't tried it on my iPad. So I can't say for sure that the above process will work on your device. But I think i recall from the instructions that this device is universal - for the most part.
