“will this work in a 2019 GMC Canyon equipped with a backup camera, the radio I have is just a base unit am/fm but the camera works when in reverse and has an icon I can click on at anytime to bring camera on”

This unit has an input for a backup camera. Go to the Alpine website and download the owners manual for specific details.
