You may need to invest in the MicroBypass device. Vehicles such as my.own don't have a parking brake wire. For safety reasons, the Alpine unit needs that wire to know when your parking brake is activated so that you can safely navigate the menus. The bypass fools it into thinking the brake is on, even if it's not.
