A:AnswerWhen I had mine installed I did not know that the parking break had to be on to access the full setup menu. Some items were unavailable, like Bluetooth. You need to put your car in park and engage the parking break to let the head unit know its safe to access the full menu.
This head unit has car play. So once it is installed your "car" will have car play. You just need to plug your iPhone into the cable they also installed so your iPhone can connect to the radio and be available. Of course obvious you need an iPhone capable of car play
A:AnswerAndroid auto needs the cable plug in, but bluetooth doesn't, can listen to music and vocal gps, or phone calls don't need the cable. If u wanna see the gps on it from your phone or texts which are vocal than u need the cable.
