It would work in your car if you connect it to a speaker that has Bluetooth or a line in plug. It also would work in your home the same way.

Hi there! The Echo Auto connects via Bluetooth or an Auxiliary cable to your car's built in stereo, so unfortunately if your car stereo is broke the Auto will not work. If you're looking to use Alexa in your car, there are aftermarket car stereos available that have Alexa built in. Hope that helps, have a great rest of your day!
