I also bought this for my blind mother, at this time it cannot do this, would be a great feature if they could add it.

I have 4 of thes Echo Dots and I don't think it can dial a phone for her, but I am not 100% positive, but it is well worth the money and I am sure your Mom will a lot of use from it like know the weather, playing music for her, asking for & getting information about lots of things.

At this time I don't believe that the Echo Dot is capable of dialing a phone. In fact, I said, "Alexa... Can you dial a phone" and the reply was. "I don't understand the question". I next said, "Alexa... Dial 262377XXXX" and I received the same reply.
