Will the Echo Dot work in Europe and Japan as well? null

Yes, it will with a minor exception or two. The only thing I found it would not do is give weather because weather function is limited to stateside zip codes. I've used Dots and Echos in the Middle East and Central Asia, so you will be good to go. As for electricity, the power supply is auto-switching multi-voltage, and is just a USB charger. Thus, you could power your Dot off any USB charger (although it does come with single-port charger).
