One APP I have not heard mention other than on the QVC video for the Dot by the Amazon representative is an APP(free) in which you program emergency contact phone numbers and emails and if you are in an emergency situation in which you cannot get to a phone, such as falling. You can ask Alexa to contact Buddy List (I think that was the name) and Alexa will immediately send the person/s a text as well as an email advising there is an urgent message to them from you to get a hold of them. Just for that alone it sold me, the rest is gravy! I got one for myself as well as my elderly father.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Absolutely not. Once you hook it to Wifi you don't have to mess with it. She can play music, play 20 questions, ask for weather etc.. all with her voice. It's actually a perfect thing to get an older person because there is no remote control to lose. :-)
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Depends on what you want to do with it. At the very least she can tell it to play her favorite radio station and ask it questions like you would google. It'll do that right out of the box.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. It is very simple to use. Once you have it set up on your internet and sinc with phone app for her all she needs to do is talk to it. No other set up required.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. My grandma actually loves mine. She thinks it's hilarious to talk to it and ask it random questions. To answer your question though, it is very easy to use with very little set up. Assuming that your mom has wifi then it shouldn't be a problem for her to set up and use. Enjoy your new echo Dot!
