The only way this can connect to a computer is by letting her listen to music thru the aux port.

So, instead of her having to get online and look something up, she could ask Alexa....within reason. My mom just says, Alexa, what's the weather today? Or Alexa, what does ____ mean? Her vision is poor so it helps her avoid having to look up some things on her computer or phone (you can also say, Alexa, call ___) as long as it is paired with the phone.

Asking if these products can be used together is like asking if an apple can sit on a counter at the same time as a sack of grapes. Sure they can, and it might look appetizing but the apple isn't going to change the fact that you've never owned a refrigerator. The sales guy at Best Buy was right.
