From what I've read, it would work if she's got a smart phone as well to have the Alexa app installed.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. You'll have to train her to use it, and to use the "drop in" feature (hands free speaker phone VOIP) , you'll need an Echo and a decent internet connection on your end as well. Inexpensive to try out in any case, and at the very least, she'll have music. Additionally, the dot is portable w aftermarket cases and batteries, so it's possible to use it on the go, you'll need to set up your mobile phone as a WiFi hotspot, load the Alexa App on your mobile device and then you can speak to Mom where ever cellular data has a decent signal.for free.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I believe it will work when calling. Just make sure the dot is close by so it can hear her.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Absolutely. You set hers up and you can call her from the Alexa app on your phone. They even have a drop in feature that can be turned on that allows you to drop in on that person. You simply say Alexa, drop in on Grandma. You would be connected and gramdma would hear you and she could be heard immediately. She doesn't have to do anything. Like I said you have to enable this feature but it is supper cool for your situation. You would name her device grandma in my example. Get one. You won't be disappointed.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Absolutely yes. But, you would need one at your house too. Echos can talk between each other. There is a little setup that needs to be done, but it's not hard.
