This is just a listening device, you need devices that will hear alexa. Such as smart bulbs, smart cameras, smart plugs, anything that says "works with alexa," By it self, it really cannot do much more than try to answer questions you may have

You just need the echo and internet and your good to go. If you want loud music just connect to any Bluetooth speaker

Depends what you want to do. WiFi to use Alexa. Various devices and corresponding apps for a smart home. Amazon Prime for ordering by voice and some of the music functionality (but you're okay without it for Pandora, Tune-In, etc.)

You don't "need"anything else. You may want to get a good quality bluetooth speaker or earphones for better sound and volume. I also have ordered to battery pack for the Dot. I'm currently using an external phone battery to run it so I can move it around more easily when I don't want it connected to its power supply. Works very well, but kind of a lot to fool with. The Dot is a very cool little device all by itself though. BTW, I have no connection to Best Buy, Amazon or Bose in any way.
