• Yes it will work you for. You can get it setup on Wifi via a PC or Phone App. All you need is an Amazon Account. Doesn't have to be Prime. Go to following link to set her up on PC. http://alexa.amazon.com/

• Yes. If you want music tell it to play Pandora. Or you can request an artist and it will respond the song is not in your music library. A song by that artist or genre will then play from I Heart Radio. Or ask for a flash news briefing, weather, play games.

• The amazon echo will need some setup, and this is typically done with a tablet or smart phone; ie: connect it to the wifi, etc. I am not sure if you can set it up with a laptop.
